Left for Dead Came Back for Everything novel Chapter 163

His gaze bounced frantically between Julian and Eliza, the corners of his mouth turning down as a look of sheer, world-shattering betrayal and fury washed over his face.

His eyes looked ready to water, but it was useless.

His favorite uncle was casually sipping his soup, not even sparing him a glance.

And the woman across from him—Eliza—was quietly looking down, peacefully eating the ribs on her plate.

Logan puffed his cheeks out in absolute rage.

He slammed his silverware down, shoved his chair back violently, and stood up.

"I'm full."

He turned on his heel to storm off, pausing at the doorway to shoot one last venomous glare at Eliza.

Then, he bolted.

His footsteps were heavy and frantic, stomping all the way out into the courtyard.

Vivian let out a long sigh. "That boy."

Julian calmly picked up some greens with his fork. "Ignore him. He'll behave once he skips a couple of meals."

Eliza set her fork down, hesitating before saying, "Julian, about those ribs—you really didn't have to..."

"What is it?" Julian looked at her. "Do you not like them?"

"No, it's just—"

"If you like them, eat more. You're too thin. The most important thing for a patient is proper nutrition." His tone was light, treating it like the most trivial matter in the world.

"I'll handle his bad habits. You don't need to worry about it."

Eliza glanced at him.

Then she looked down and finished the ribs on her plate.

...

After dinner, Vivian led Eliza to the back courtyard to see the old master.

Julian had wanted to accompany them, but his sister chased him off with a single look: "You'll just be in the way. Medical consultations require absolute quiet."

Julian didn't argue. He turned and headed to his study.
