Eliza exhaled heavily, closed the file, and carefully set it aside.
"That bitch Yvonne didn't make the provincial team through talent. She bought her way in!"
"And the girl whose spot she stole could have had an incredible career in dance, but her ticket to the top was snatched away at the most critical moment, erasing her from the industry entirely."
"Absolutely shameless," Gwen spat through gritted teeth, practically vibrating with rage.
"This file is enough to destroy Yvonne completely. How can someone like her be allowed to teach dance? She's poisoning her students!"
"Just you wait, Eliza. I'm going to mail copies of this everywhere! The competition committee, her company, the Roth family, the press—everyone gets a copy!"
"Gwen, we can't do this yet."
"Why not?" Gwen asked, instantly defensive.
"Because my divorce isn't finalized."
Eliza grabbed Gwen's hand and gently patted it.
"The cooling-off period hasn't ended. If we leak this now, the Roth family will assume I'm doing it purely out of revenge, and they'll do everything in their power to make my life a living hell."
"Besides, you know how Zander operates. His brain doesn't process logic. If he thinks I'm targeting Yvonne, he's just going to start his idiotic theatrics all over again."
"I can already picture him convincing himself that I'm acting out of jealousy and relentlessly harassing me about it."
"I have to get my divorce certificate quietly, cut all ties with the Roth family completely, and then I can settle the score with zero baggage."
Gwen slammed her fist into the armrest of the sofa.
"Fine! I'll wait. But when the time comes, I'm dropping the bomb myself!"
"Let's see if that old witch in the Roth family still treats her like a prized possession after this! The Roths care about their precious reputation more than anything. I can't wait to see if that old lady will still be smiling when her face is dragged through the mud!"
