I Was His Wife, Then His Widow, Then No One's But My Own novel Chapter 330

Cassie shook her head frantically, tears streaming down her face. "I won't allow it! I love you, Sera. I want you to be part of our family!"

A fierce, stubborn resolve hardened in the little girl's chest. "Don't worry, Sera. I'll protect you!"

Cassie slammed the phone down and sprinted out of her room. Tearing down the stairs, she spotted the housekeeper, Martha, dusting the living room.

She threw herself at the older woman. "I want Uncle Frederick! I want Uncle Frederick!"

Martha blinked in surprise. "Miss Cassie, Mr. Fletcher should be at the office right now. If you miss him, we can give him a call."

Cassie wailed, stomping her feet. "Tell him to come back! Call Uncle Frederick right now!"

Left with no other option, Martha quickly dialed Finnegan's number.

"Sir, Cassie is crying hysterically for you. She says she isn't feeling well, and it looks quite serious. Could you come home to check on her?"

Finnegan's blood ran cold. He immediately halted the executive meeting. "I'm on my way."

When Finnegan burst through the front door, he found Cassie sitting comfortably on the sofa, happily watching cartoons.

He hurried over, checking her forehead. "I thought you were sick?"

Cassie turned, threw her arms around his neck, and whispered, "Dad, carry me upstairs. I have something important to tell you."

Assuming it was a serious emergency, Finnegan scooped her up and carried her to her bedroom.
