"Don't worry, it'll just be us. I'll have Hayden bring you two over. I'll be waiting."

With Beatrice's reassurance, Zoe knew Sienna and Sylvia wouldn't be there.

As for Hayden, she pursed her lips. Having him drive her was completely unnecessary. Even if he did show up just to placate his grandmother, she knew he wouldn't stick around for more than ten minutes. Because of that, she really didn't mind if he was there.

She was more than happy to share a meal with Beatrice. She hadn't yet mentioned that she had moved out of Blackwood Manor and was staying with the Kendalls. Beatrice would find out eventually, but bringing it up now would only make the old lady worry and likely trigger another attempt to reconcile her and Hayden.

After hanging up, Zoe focused entirely on her work.

Garrett had seen her on the phone and waited quietly by the door, only stepping inside once she finished.

"Who were you talking to that made you smile like that?" he asked casually.

Thinking of Beatrice, the smile lingered on Zoe's face. "Grandmother Thorne invited me to dinner this weekend."

Garrett's expression stiffened for a fraction of a second.

"Do you want me to go with you?"

He was worried the Winters family might show up. How was Zoe supposed to face them? They had just thrown Terrence in prison, and with Hayden so fiercely protective of Sienna, it could easily turn into an ambush, even if Beatrice was on Zoe's side.

Zoe's eyes curved into a crescent, her demeanor radiating a gentle, spring-like calm. "It's fine. It's just going to be a few of us. Sienna won't be there."

Relieved, Garrett let it go.

Through the half-lowered window, Sienna caught a glimpse of Garrett's mature profile and a smirk touched her lips.

Running into Garrett here while arriving with Hayden—it seemed she and Garrett really were destined to cross paths.

Mrs. Winters, sitting in the back, noticed Sienna's gaze. "Do you know him?"

Sienna glanced at Hayden, who was completely focused on the road and oblivious to Garrett. She intentionally raised her voice a notch. "That's Garrett Kendall. Zoe's new 'godbrother'."

Mrs. Winters instantly exploded.

"What an absolute parasite! I gave birth to her, and before I'm even dead, she runs off to be someone else's daughter! But I guess I can't blame her—we don't have their money and power. Then again, throwing herself at any man with status is exactly her style. Thank God Hayden loves you so much and didn't fall for her tricks. I swear, I don't know how I birthed such a shameless seductress!"
