I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 610

To her surprise, he remained completely silent the entire time. When it was Zoe's turn to speak, she made her stance crystal clear: she wanted a complete separation from Hayden.

Sebastian Shaw noted how remarkably calm they both were. There were no explosive arguments or deep-seated hostility on display.

However, having served as a mediator for years, he knew that a family this quietly resolved had almost zero chance of reconciling.

"Alright, we've recorded your statements. If both of you are satisfied, please sign these documents. We'll take them back for processing. It will take three business days, and the finalized paperwork will be mailed to you. Three copies in total; The Military Personnel Command will keep one on file to prevent any future disputes or changes of heart."

Zoe didn't hesitate. "I won't be changing my mind."

Shaw chuckled softly. "I understand where you're coming from. Commander Thorne has a highly demanding job, and his focus on work naturally detracts from his family life. We always try to encourage reconciliation, but since you are adamant about separating, Command will not force the issue. As long as everything is reasonable and there's no third-party involvement, we will proceed with a standard, amicable separation."

Zoe nodded, feeling a massive weight lift off her shoulders.

Zoe caught a ride back to the city with Shaw's team, and Hayden made no move to stop her.

Garrett had only dared to check on the progress via text; he hadn't risked picking her up.

In these matters, even the slightest misstep could result in accusations of interfering with a military marriage.

When Zoe arrived, she thanked Shaw and watched their cars pull away. The whole thing still felt like a dreamβ€”almost too good to be true.

Garrett was waiting for her at the Kendall estate.

Zoe met his eyes and broke into a huge smile.

"Garrett, I'm officially divorced."

She was ecstatic, practically glowing.

Garrett offered a subdued, "Congratulations." He couldn't fully share in her excitement.

She and Hayden had two children. As of today, those kids were officially from a broken home.

Zoe didn't notice the worry in Garrett's eyes, and seeing how happy she was, he decided not to rain on her parade.
