I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 609

Hayden's face darkened instantly.

He gripped the ring box so hard his knuckles turned white, barely stopping himself from hurling it across the room.

Zoe was completely unmoved.

"Our marriage is over. There is zero chance of us getting back together. Stop wasting your time. Howeverβ€”"

Zoe scanned the surroundings again. It really was an exact replica of the home her father had built.

She had no idea where Hayden found the blueprints, but she had to admit, he put effort into it.

"I do like this villa. Transfer it to my name after the divorce is finalized. You have more than enough real estate, so I doubt you'll mind."

She had worried he might put up a fight, but during their initial asset division, Hayden hadn't been stingy. Whatever she asked for, he agreed to.

That said, she had only ever asked for her rightful half, and he had never contested it.

Hayden gave her a long, unreadable look before a faint smile touched his lips. "No problem."

His quick agreement actually put her on edge.

"Are you sure?"

"Of course. Even if we're no longer husband and wife, we still share children."

Zoe figured he was finally acting like a rational adult.

She checked her watch. "Can you tell them to hurry up? We still need to head to the command center later."

Hayden signaled for the staff to bring in breakfast.

"There's no rush. Eat first. I already took the day off for us from Director Yates. If this takes too long, we shouldn't keep the team waiting on us. It's better not to delay their work."

That made sense, so Zoe agreed.

She had zero desire to share a romantic breakfast with him, but she had skipped eating before she left, and her stomach was growling.

She wasn't going to punish herself out of spite. Taking a seat, she settled in.

Hayden carefully selected her favorite dishes, meticulously portioning them out and placing them in front of her.

Zoe didn't stand on ceremony, digging into whatever caught her eye.

Hayden couldn't take his eyes off her radiant complexion. Come to think of it, this was the first time they had ever sat down and shared breakfast as a married couple.

He cherished every second of it.
