I Forgot I Ever Loved You (Zoe and Hayden) novel Chapter 174

The photo was discreetly forwarded to Sienna Winters.

"Sienna, the new hire at our company today looks an awful lot like the secretary from your office. Maybe I'm seeing things, but you might want to take a look."

Sienna was sitting in her office, still fuming over how Hayden had left with Zoe the day before, completely abandoning her.

When the message popped up on her screen, a malicious smirk curled her lips.

She didn't reply. Instead, she took her phone straight to Hayden's office.

"Hayden, did Zoe resign just to jump ship to Sterling Group?"

She placed the phone on his desk.

The photo showed Zoe smiling gracefullyโ€”radiant, confident, and stunning.

It was a smile he had never seen directed at him.

Whether intentionally or not, the photographer had also captured Garrett gazing at Zoe with undeniable adoration.

Or at least, in Hayden's eyes, it looked like raw, predatory desire.

Zoe was really something.

They weren't even divorced yet, and she was already looking for her next target.

Hayden tore his gaze away from the screen.

He masked his reaction with indifferent coldness.

He acted as though he didn't care.

"Where she goes is her own freedom."

But Sienna's grudge against Zoe ran deep.

"I saw her with Professor Layne yesterday. Knowing her personality, she wouldn't hesitate to use the Professor to..."

She had studied abroad, kept up with the latest industry news, and even anonymously coded a few decent security programs.

Garrett was blind for passing up a partnership with her in favor of a brainless bimbo like Zoe.

Hayden remained quiet.

He appeared to genuinely consider her words.

"Zoe just walked out without anyone's approval," Sienna pressed, feigning distress. "Who knows if she took classified company data with her? Even if she wanted to switch jobs, she should have notified us.

"She has zero respect for this company. Don't you think a blatant violation like this needs to be addressed? Hayden, I know she's my sister, but I have to remain professional. As the Vice President, I can't play favorites."

She lowered her eyes, projecting a look of profound sorrow.

"Easton Group was Charles's dream. He built this from the ground up while under the old man's suffocating pressure. I can't let his legacy be destroyed by someone else. I want to protect it, grow it.

"Someday, when Holden is older, I want to tell him this was his father's empire and make him proud. You'll help me, won't you?"
