The man, who had striking, fox-like eyes and a beauty mark by his cheek, reeked of heavy cologne and cosmetics.

Something about his heavily styled appearance made both Hayden and Asher inexplicably furious.

Hayden locked his hand around the guy's throat, lifting him until his eyes rolled to the back of his head.

The guy was pinned to the wall, gasping desperately for air.

"Mr. Thorne. Mr. Kendall. We received a report of an assault on the premises. Just standard protocol—I'm going to need you both to come down to the station to give a statement."

Hayden pressed his lips together, while Asher stared toward the exit. Near the door, two familiar female silhouettes were rapidly scrambling out of sight.

Asher's lips curled into a faint smirk. By the time he got home, his little troublemaker would probably already be back in bed, pretending to be fast asleep.

"Of course."

Asher cooperatively offered his hands for the cuffs, glancing at the battered man who was currently hiding behind the officers, crying a river of tears.

Captain Briggs jumped in panic, stammering, "M-Mr. Kendall, there's no need for cuffs! We're just going through the motions. Please, step into the cruiser."

Hayden and Asher followed Captain Briggs into the squad car.

By the time Dr. Quentin Muir, Ian Varley, and Ethan Montgomery realized what was happening, the two men had already been hauled away.
