In an instant, the entire room plunged into a dead, suffocating silence.
Even the sound of breathing seemed to vanish.
Yorath slowly shifted his gaze toward Ottilie.
"Say that again."
Their eyes met. After a single second, Ottilie broke eye contact and looked away.
Yorath’s expression remained perfectly composed; not even a flicker of emotion shifted in his eyes.
But a terrifying, invisible pressure seeped through Ottilie’s pores, carrying an icy, paralyzing dread.
It made every hair on her body stand on end.
She fought desperately to suppress a shiver.
The silence dragged on unbearably until Ottilie finally lost control and visibly shuddered.
Only then did Yorath withdraw his gaze, his voice unnervingly light.
"Ottilie, as long as people are breathing, they need to respect the spirit of a contract."
Dead people didn't need to honor contracts.
Ottilie fell completely silent.
Yorath just kept staring at her, perfectly still.
After what felt like an eternity, Ottilie finally spoke. "There are a few clauses I still need to think over. And I have some demands of my own that I haven't fully finalized yet."
"I’ll give you three more days." Yorath stood up and walked out without another word.
Leaving nothing behind but the broken pen on the table.
The suffocating tension lingered long after he was gone.
Yorath didn't return for an entire week.
Soren eventually stopped by and asked her, "The three days are up. Have you signed the contract, Ms. Sewell? If so, please hand it over."
"I haven't made my decision yet," Ottilie replied.
Soren gave her a polite, thoroughly professional smile and turned to leave.
Staring at his back, Ottilie asked, "Has Mr. Fordham been staying at The Empyrean all week?"
"Yes." Soren glanced back at her. "Is there anything else, Ms. Sewell?"
Ottilie desperately wanted to ask: *If the woman at The Empyrean is so cherished, why can't she force Yorath to cut ties with everyone else?*
She genuinely didn't want to sleep with Yorath ever again.
But ultimately, she swallowed the question and shut the door.
The movie was an unstoppable juggernaut, raking in two to three hundred million a day.
But all that revenue had absolutely nothing to do with Ottilie.
Yorath had personally invested over a hundred million into the film just to elevate the actors signed to his company.
