Ottilie remained completely silent.
Furious, Jevon kicked the leg of the small, round table.
He turned to Yorath, who had just walked out. "You spoil her too much! She thinks she can get away with anything. If this were any other agency, they would have sued her for damages and kicked her to the curb a long time ago."
Yorath looked directly at Ottilie. "I'll have someone write a new script for you. You can pick any director or writer you want, domestic or international."
Jevon threw his hands up. "No one in the entertainment industry gets that kind of treatment! You're being way too lenient with her!"
Ottilie was more than used to their good-cop, bad-cop routine.
Yorath's method of controlling her had always been the same: hit her with a stick, then offer her a piece of candy.
He always made sure he held all the cards.
"Since I get to choose the script, the director, and the writer," Ottilie said calmly, "I want all of that explicitly written into the contract. I also want a clause stating that once I finalize my choices, it gets locked in. If you breach the contract again, you will owe me substantial compensation. If I breach it, I'll pay the corresponding penalty."
"You're just trying to milk this for everything it's worth!" Jevon snapped.
"I'm keeping this strictly business," Ottilie replied seriously. "I have no interest in doing all the hard work just to have it handed over to someone else at the last minute."
On this particular issue, Yorath knew he was in the wrong.
Jevon opened his mouth to argue, but Yorath silenced him with a single glance.
"Fine. We'll do it your way. Let me know who you want for your director."
"I want Zavier Langley and Paige Quinn," Ottilie stated. "And I demand that my movie starts filming and hits theaters before Nyssa's *Kill My Lover*."
Jevon scoffed loudly. "Who do you think you are comparing yourself to Nyssa? Every single movie she stars in is a massive box-office hit. She pulls in hundreds of millions guaranteed. She's the company's biggest cash cow. What are you?"
"I'm a canceled actress," Ottilie replied smoothly.
Jevon choked on his own words.
Looking slightly embarrassed, he rubbed the bridge of his nose. "That's not what I meant."
"It's not what I meant either," Ottilie shot back.
"Enough," Yorath interrupted. "Leave the contract here. We'll go over it together tonight."
