He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 16

Yorath unbuttoned the top of his shirt, the powerful muscles shifting faintly beneath the fabric.

He took off his glasses, letting his hair fall loose, entirely shattering his perfectly composed, effortless facade.

"Solar system crystal globes? You and your Mr. Walden sure know how to play romantic."

Ottilie bit down hard on her lip, refusing to say a word.

"What's the point of playing with a teacher? If there's something you want, do you really think I wouldn't give it to you?"

His tone was incredibly casual, almost like an old married couple flirting.

But it made her scalp tingle with absolute dread.

The last time he spoke to her like that was right after she had filmed a kissing scene with a male actor. She couldn't completely remember what happened afterward. All she knew was that she never dared to get close to another man again.

Beneath Yorath's terrifyingly calm exterior always lurked a storm violent enough to make anyone's blood run cold.

Her headache worsened, her mind swimming in a hazy fog as she lay pinned against the mattress.

"Please, just hurry up," she mumbled. All she wanted was to sleep. She couldn't hold on much longer.

The next second, a hard, burning hot masculine body pressed heavily against her. He bit down on the nape of her neck, sending a sharp sting of pain through her.

His kisses trailed up to her ear as he whispered, "Why did you move in with him?"

"My house is too loud. I rented his apartment," she replied, her words fractured and breathless.

As her consciousness began to slip, she also felt the suffocating, invisible pressure in the room vanish.

"This will always be your home. You can move back whenever you want."

His voice felt miles away, drifting through her ears and into her brain as if it were crossing the expanse of the last three years.

Back then, Ottilie really had viewed this place as her home. When the housekeeper finally threw her out, she called Yorath countless times and sent him dozens of texts begging for help, but he never replied to a single one.

Eventually, she went straight to his law firm to find him, only to be dragged away by the police. The next time she saw him was in court. He was Nyssa's defense attorney, leading an army of tens of millions of Nyssa's fans to condemn and judge her.
