He Waited She Wilted (Ottilie and Yorath) novel Chapter 15

The inside of the property was pitch black. She rang the doorbell, but there was no response.

She pulled out her phone. The only contact in her directory was Yves. She tried dialing Yorath's number from memory, but failed every time.

At 1:00 AM, Yorath's car finally pulled up.

It stopped right at the main gates. The AI sensors recognized the license plate and automatically opened the garage doors.

But the car didn't move.

Ottilie walked over, and the driver's side window rolled down halfway. Yorath's chiseled features looked as sharp as a blade, his sharp presence exuding a bone-chilling indifference.

"Mr. Fordham, I need to ask you for a favor."

"For your Mr. Walden?" His voice drifted from the car, deep and hollow, sounding incredibly distant yet right next to her.

"You said I could come to you if I ran into difficulties." She kept her head down, still unable to meet his eyes. All she could see was his flawlessly cold jawline and his elegant neck.

"I said you could come to me if you ran into trouble."

"I'll pay your legal fees."

"I'm expensive."

Ottilie had no money. She lowered her gaze to her own body and said, very softly, "I'll make sure you're entirely satisfied tonight."

The two of them walked to the front door. She took the lead, then turned back to him. "I don't know the password."

"It's my birthday."

"I forgot it."

He gave her a long look before stepping forward and punching in the code.

Once inside, he took off his jacket and hung it in the cloakroom by the entryway. He changed his shoes and rolled up his sleeves. "What do you want to eat?"

"Anything is fine. Let me cook." She bypassed the entryway and walked into the living room.

The interior featured a sophisticated Neoclassical style—understated, elegant, and full of depth. It was exactly the aesthetic Nyssa loved.

Standing right behind her, Yorath said, "Three years ago, I brought someone in to check the spiritual balance of the house. They made some suggestions, so I had it remodeled like this."
