A group of young men and women were strolling past their booth, and among them was Jarrod.

Perhaps he was just annoyed to see her, because his expression was utterly frigid, his dark eyes glinting with a dangerous edge.

Stella hadn't expected to run into him here. She was just debating whether to offer a polite greeting when Chloe Huxley suddenly sprinted over. "Jarrod..."

The moment the name left her lips, Chloe spotted Stella. Her expression instantly hardened into a mask of hostile vigilance.

At the exact same moment, one of the men beside Jarrod noticed her and eagerly rushed over.

"Well, if it isn't Mrs. Fuller! What a coincidence!"

Stella glanced up and recognized Julian Jenson, Jarrod's childhood friend from the private club they had visited previously.

Julian's eyes darted to the cocktails on the table, then to Summer. He flashed a wide grin. "Out for drinks with a friend, Mrs. Fuller?"

Summer offered a polite nod of acknowledgment.

Stella, noting Chloe's rapidly souring expression, corrected him. "Mr. Jenson, please just call me Stella. Jarrod and I—"

"Let's go!"

Before Stella could even finish her sentence, Jarrod cut her off with an irritated snap and strode away on his long legs.

Chloe seamlessly fell into step beside him, immediately looping her arm through his. "I'm drinking tonight too, Jarrod, and you are not allowed to stop me!"

Julian rubbed the back of his neck, looking incredibly awkward. "Stella, the thing with Jarrod and Chloe is..."

"It doesn't matter. Jarrod and I filed our divorce papers today, so you don't need to call me Mrs. Fuller anymore," Stella stated flatly.
