That night, Stella was just getting ready for bed when Arthur Bishop's name lit up her phone screen.
"Mrs. Fuller, the Boss has had a bit too much to drink. Could you please come pick him up?"
Stella had been wanting to find Jarrod anyway, so she agreed. "Alright. Send me the address."
Arthur quickly texted her the location of a private, high-end club.
Stella threw on a coat and took a car over.
Upon arriving at the lounge, Stella followed the directions to Jarrod's private room.
Pushing open the door, Stella immediately saw Jarrod leaning back against the sofa. His head rested against the cushions, and his long legs were casually propped up on the coffee table. He lacked his usual razor-sharp edge, looking relaxed and languid.
Hearing the door open, Jarrod didn't react, but the young man sitting next to him turned his head.
Seeing her, the man smiled and said, "Well, well, another stunning, effortless beauty. What's wrong, did you walk into the wrong room too?"
It seemed that because Jarrod and his crowd were here, plenty of people had tried to come in and flirt, and this man assumed she was just another one of those hopefuls.
Stella shook her head and pointed at Jarrod. "I'm not in the wrong room. Arthur said he drank too much and asked me to come pick him up."
Hearing this, Julian Jenson scrutinized Stella with a probing gaze before asking, "Who are you? What's your relationship with Jarrod?"
Stella answered truthfully, "My name is Stella Quinn. Currently, I'm his wife."
"You're Jarrod's arranged wife?!"
Julian couldn't believe his ears.
In his mind, Jarrod's wife was the kind of perfectly molded socialite dripping in haute couture, impeccably poised and proper.
