Jarrod didn't answer. He simply pressed the box into her palm, silently gesturing for her to open it herself.

Over the past three years, Stella had received gifts from him, but they were almost always picked out by his assistant and handed to her in passing.

Since she could tell from the packaging that they were incredibly expensive, she never bothered opening them, let alone wearing them.

Today wasn't a holiday or an anniversary. Why on earth was Jarrod suddenly buying her something and handing it to her personally?

The box was long and slender, clearly meant for jewelry.

Jarrod spoke with absolute casualness, as if he had just handed her a box of mints.

Stella considered her family relatively wealthy, but Jarrod's casual extravagance still left her stunned.

"Who else?" he shot back.

When he brought up the ring issue last time, Stella assumed he was just talking to hear himself talk.

She had completely forgotten about it the next day.

She never imagined he would actually buy an entire box of them.

Their contract was up in two months anyway. What was the point of buying all this now?

"What, you don't like a single one?" Jarrod frowned, noticing her stunned silence.

"No—" Stella quickly corrected herself. "I mean, these are fine."

Jarrod gave a stiff nod but didn't move, hovering as if waiting for her to say something else.
