Jarrod shot Stella a look. "Your team leader specifically came to me, praising how hard you all worked and requesting a reward."

The team immediately showered Stella with gratitude.

Stella was stunned. Hadn't Jarrod given out the laptops because Chloe suggested it?

They stayed for another fifteen minutes before Stella noticed the deep exhaustion in Jarrod's eyes. She took the initiative to say their goodbyes.

"Who told you I did it for her?"

Jarrod practically gritted his teeth. "Stella, would it have killed you to just ask me?"

Stella had plenty of questions she wanted to ask, but since Jarrod was driving, now was clearly not the right time.
