Chapter 435
In the middle of the night, Dominic sat beside Chris’s hospital bed, feeling like this family of three was going to drive him out of his mind.
He had barely finished worrying about one of them before he had to start worrying about another. It never ended.
When Winter had been brought out of the emergency room that evening, she had murmured that she was in pain. Only then had Chris finally loosened his grip, giving the doctors a chance to separate them.
Otherwise, Dominic would have been stuck watching over both of them at once.
At this rate, he was going to worry himself into an early grave.
“Hey, don’t move!” Out of the corner of his eye, Dominic saw Chris wake up. He reacted first and pressed both hands firmly on Chris’s shoulders.
As for why he needed both hands, it was because Chris was ridiculously strong. Even injured, there was no guarantee Dominic could hold him down.
Chris’s eyes were still red, the whites of them streaked with blood. His pale, dry lips moved.
“Where is she?” His voice was hoarse.
“She’s fine. She already woke up once, drank half a glass of water, and ate a little. Her temperature is normal. Her blood pressure is normal. Her heart rate is normal. Most importantly, she is still in the hospital. She hasn’t left.”
Dominic rattled off Winter’s condition in one breath, then repeated the most important part.
“She hasn’t left. She’s still in her room.”
So he did remember he had a son.
The moment Dominic thought of Richie, he planted both hands on his hips and started scolding Chris at the bedside.
“Oh, so you do remember you have a son? The way you were acting in Winter’s room, I thought you’d decided nothing else mattered anymore.”
Chris listened in silence, his expression unreadable.
But the second Dominic finished speaking, he regretted it.
How could Chris not care about Richie?
