Game Over, Mr. CEO: Your Wife Is Done (Winter and Chris) novel Chapter 253

The caregiver saw that more than half the oatmeal was still left in the bowl. It had been specially made to help with her anemia, with all kinds of expensive, high–end ingredients added in.

It was obvious Chris really cared about Skyla. This one bowl probably cost more than most people spent on food in a month.

She remembered what Chris had told her before. If Skyla’s anemia didn’t get better, she would be fired.

In a humble tone, she coaxed softly, “Ms. Jasper, please eat a little more. You’ve barely eaten anything. If Mr. Xander finds out, he’ll worry about you.”

Sure enough, the moment Chris was mentioned, Skyla gave in.

Skyla picked up her spoon again, just as a sudden noise came from outside.

A roar sounded in the distance, then grew louder and louder, coming straight toward the house.

Winter looked at the familiar home in front of her. Every brick and every tile held memories of her family. The iron gate in front of her was rusted through and could never withstand a hard impact.

But she knew that if she didn’t crash through it, that gate would never open for her again the way it had when she was a child.

Her face turned cold. She gritted her teeth and slammed her foot all the way down on the gas.

The car crashed through the closed iron gate with a deafening bang. The bodyguards inside instinctively stepped back.

The engine roared like a beast as the car tore into the yard. Winter turned the wheel carefully and did not hit anyone. The second the car stopped, she shoved the door open, only to be blocked at once.

The lead bodyguard was one of Gavin’s men. Winter recognized him.

“Move.”

“Ma’am, you can’t go in.”

Knowing they would do everything they could to stop her, Winter didn’t waste a single word. She attacked him without warning.

The bodyguards clearly hadn’t expected her to be that skilled.

Inside, behind the floor–to–ceiling windows, Skyla narrowed her eyes.

The bodyguards didn’t dare seriously hurt Winter, but Winter’s moves were sharp and practiced. Since when had she learned how to fight?

Just as the bodyguards were about to restrain her without injuring her, Winter suddenly grabbed a gun from the waist of one of the men beside her and pressed the barrel against her own temple.

“Ma’am” The bodyguards‘ faces changed instantly.

In an eerily alin voice, Winter said, “I only want to go in and see Skyla Jasper.”

Winter, what are you doing here?”

The moment Skyla said that, Winter didn’t need to ask another question.

You really think Chris can protect you forever?”

The moment those words left her mouth, Winter didn’t wait for an answer.

She pulled the trigger.

Chris strode into the living room with his men. The second he looked up, he saw Winter holding a gun on Skyla.

Her whole body was shaking with rage. Her finger was already pressing down on the trigger.

A deadly chill swept through his dark eyes. Chris snatched a gun from one of the bodyguards.

Bang!

The bullet shot out and struck the gun in Winter’s hand.

The force sent it flying from her grip.

The hard handle slammed against the web of her hand and split the skin open. Blood welled up at once, then dripped down from her pale palm to the floor.
