Chasing His Betrayed Luna novel Chapter 116

Princess Katie Anne

~<>~

Even though it’s been many hours since Jarrett was looked up, I was still in shock. I mean, it happened so fast, and the fact that Jarrett was getting involved with the banished witches in the human realm made me feel uneasy.

Or maybe it was because my mom has been gloomy since Elora exposed Jarrett’s secret, even before Luna Cynthia could.

I hate seeing my mom worried or in pain, especially when I wasn’t the cause of it. It would be a different story if she were worried about me not talking to her or in pain because I wouldn’t listen to her.

But this story was about a past she had fought so hard to keep in the past and overcome.

“They will be fine, Kat.” My mate’s solemn voice echoed in my head, forcing me to look in his direction as he added, “We will all be fine.”

He could tell I was worried about my parents, as I wouldn’t want to see them unraveling, just like he was worried about us because we were navigating a dangerous path that might blow up in our faces, even though Jarrett was in captivity.

I shoved my worries to the pit of my stomach as I walked up to Davien, eyes fixed on him instead of the new room we would be staying in. As soon as I got to him, I wrapped my arms around his waist, burying my face in his chest as I muttered, “I miss the life we had back in Dark Moon Pack. I miss our poolhouse…. Our home.”

My mate didn’t hesitate to respond as he inhaled my scent deeply, holding my frame tightly, “Me too, Kat, but we will make another home here. I promise you.”

Without thinking twice, I muttered right after listening to Davien’s reassuring words, “I’m sorry about the duel.”

My mate scoffed, “Are you?”

Well, maybe I wasn’t completely sorry, but I was still sorry he didn’t get to fight like he wanted. I have watched him prepare to avenge his late father and prove his worth, so I knew better than anyone that Davien wasn’t happy about the turn of events.

However, the morning soon brought its own worries upon the arrival of the council and leaders of the realm. Yes, everyone traveled down here despite the time they got the message.

“Take Elora to the arena, Kat.” My dad said to me when Davien and I walked into the living room of the guesthouse that morning. “Your mom and I will join you soon.”

Safely, my mom was still gloomy, but I couldn’t blame her. I also knew better than to say a word to her while she was in that state, which was why I let Davien lead me to the arena while I held on to Elora.

“I can’t wait for this to end,” Zoe grumbled as soon as I settled down in the arena.

Even though I was looking around the place, reading the minds of a few people close to me, I still asked Zoe why she said that, and she responded, “Because the end of this would be the beginning of a life where we can focus on getting better and learning to love better.”

And I couldn’t disagree. Heck, I also began to look forward to the end of this more than before. Even though the end would only begin if Jarrett's blood is spilled.
