Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 566

Mina scoured the busy diner until she spotted Isolde tucked away in a gloomy corner.

Without a second thought, she rushed over, her face pale with panic. "What happened? What's going on?"

Isolde slowly lifted her gaze, her eyes brimming with fresh tears. "I... I killed someone."

Mina's mind went completely blank. The Blackthorne family had shielded her from the dark realities of the world. Murder was something that belonged in movies, not real life.

Isolde broke down completely, clutching her plate of cold, soggy fries. "But I didn't want to. She forced me to. What do I do? I'm so scared..."

Mina hurriedly dug a pack of tissues from her designer purse. "Don't be scared. Just tell me what happened, slowly."

Isolde stared at the tissue offered to her, the agonizing conflict inside threatening to tear her in two.

The napkins provided by the diner were rough and cheap, but the tissue in Mina's hand was as soft as silk and carried an expensive, customized fragrance.

All of this was supposed to be hers. Mina was the one who should be fighting for scraps in the gutter. She stole everything from her.

Hatred and jealousy gnawed at her sanity, but a thin thread of reason held her back.

Maybe Mina truly didn't know. Maybe she was just an innocent beneficiary of this tragedy, not the mastermind. Up until now, Mina had never intentionally hurt her, and there was no guarantee that anything Rowena said was the truth.

After all, it only took a single phone call for Mina to drop everything and rush over.

Isolde squeezed her eyes shut, taking the delicate tissue. She recounted the entire incident with Mira from beginning to end.

Mina grew more horrified with every word, unable to fathom the sheer terror Isolde must have felt.

Isolde looked up at her, her expression hollow and utterly devoid of hope. "Miss Blackthorne, the church won't let this go. And my own mother doesn't even want me. Tell me... is there any way out for me?"

Mina nodded fiercely. "Yes."

As long as Isolde took back her rightful place as the Blackthorne heiress, she would be safe.

She grabbed Isolde's hands. "This Saturday is my birthday. Come find me at the estate, and I'll show you exactly what your way out is."

A faint glimmer of starlight sparked in Isolde's deadened eyes. "Really?"

"Really."
