Chaos Girl Rewrites the Script novel Chapter 450

[Alpha Pup: The fault is yours.]

[TheGossipGoddess: No! The fault is yours.]

[Alpha Pup: !]

[Alpha Pup: Sister, it really is you! That was too close! Your husband was totally checking up on you!]

Vivienne's face darkened. Her fingers flew across the keyboard.

[TheGossipGoddess: He's your husband.]

[Alpha Pup: ...]

Vivienne had always known that her operation might be exposed one day. To protect herself, she had established unique security phrases with every single one of her twenty-plus informants. If those three idiots thought they could track her down easily, they had another thing coming.

But since she was officially compromised, she needed to accelerate her plans.

[Alpha Pup: Sister, Serena Lowe has been visiting Stormhollow Deepwater Port a lot more frequently lately. She even let it slip that she's meeting a 'VIP', and bragged that it won't be long before she moves back to Stormhollow permanently.]

VIP. Those three letters instantly triggered Vivienne's radar.

When Serena was forced out of Stormhollow three years ago, she had occasionally tried to visit Vivienne, but Vivienne had always shut her out. Eventually, Serena wised up. Whenever she visited, she never mentioned who she was there to see. She would just drop off some gifts and leave.

That was Serena's brilliance. When she originally left Stormhollow, she told everyone she missed her roots and was going back to her hometown to recover her health. But every few months, she would return to the city under the guise of seeing a specialist.

The Ravenshire family was entirely too massive and influential to put out a public press release officially disowning her. Because of that ambiguity, Serena was able to use those minor connections to bluff the wealthy housewives in her circle.

However, there was one thing Vivienne still couldn't figure out. Who exactly was funding Serena? According to the intel Leo Larson provided, Serena's expenses every time she visited Stormhollow were massive. While she couldn't outspend the elite wives around her, her lifestyle completely exceeded her actual financial means.

Was this VIP the one footing the bill?

But Serena had already been exiled from the Ravenshire family. Why would whoever was backing her continue to fund her?

[Alpha Pup: Sister, I don't want to get involved in whatever drama you have going on. I just want the cash. Last time, we agreed: you give me a million dollars, and I find out exactly who this person is. Does that deal still stand?]

Vivienne's eye twitched violently. Her ATMs had just completely rebelled. Where on earth was she supposed to scrounge up a million dollars?!

Seeing her go quiet, Leo started spamming her with messages.

[Alpha Pup: Sister, why aren't you saying anything? Serena trusts me completely now. She even promised to take me with her to meet this mysterious VIP.]

[Alpha Pup: Sister?]

The suffocatingly dark room lacked any ventilation. The harsh, unnatural light from the phone screen illuminated Leo's battered face. He was covered in severe bruises, and his right eye was entirely bloodshot and swollen shut.

A figure in the dark took the phone and glanced at the screen. "Call her."

Leo grabbed his head, dropping to his knees. "She won't answer! Over the last three years, she's used at least fifty different accounts to talk to me. We can only talk when she initiates contact."

Click!

A small flame illuminated the darkness. The man casually lit a cigarette.

"Drag him out."

Leo was paralyzed with terror. He screamed and sobbed wildly. "I told you everything I know! I swear I don't know anything else! I didn't do anything wrong! Please, let me go! Ahhh! No!"

No one in that room was going to give him a second chance. Two men grabbed Leo, clamped a hand over his mouth, and dragged him violently into the hallway.

The man stared at the chat logs on the screen for a long time. After a moment of thought, he crushed his cigarette out and pulled a different phone from his pocket.

"It's me. Married. Wealthy and well-connected in Stormhollow. Run a filter on every single rich housewife in the city who fits those three criteria."
