Raelynn got into the vehicle.
Lily was still conscious, but her little face was completely drained of color. Because Seraphina had violently thrown her off the ledge, Lily's tender skin had caught on the rough concrete edge, leaving deep gashes on her arm.
Blood had soaked through her beautiful princess dress.
Raelynn trembled, too terrified to touch her.
She never thought the day would come when, as a doctor, she would feel as if paralyzed by a demon, too afraid to even perform a basic examination.
Thankfully, the medic in the vehicle saw her and offered some comfort. "Don't panic yet. The bones seem fine; the superficial wounds just look scary. But the bleeding won't stop. We need to get her to the hospital immediately for coagulation treatment, and then run tests for internal injuries..."
Raelynn couldn't process the words.
Lily, likely in immense pain, had beads of sweat covering her forehead.
She was whimpering softly, an uncontrollable physiological reaction to the trauma.
Raelynn's heart shattered into pieces.
But the medic's words confirmed one thing: because Lily had been shielded, she didn't have any massive fractures, though internal injuries still needed to be checked.
But...
Her shaking, ice-cold hand was suddenly enveloped by a larger one.
Raelynn looked down.
A tear slipped from her eyelashes and fell right onto the back of the large hand holding hers.
She looked up at Sebastian, who was lying next to Lily.
His eyes were closed, his brows knitted tightly together in pain. His face was just as pale, lips pressed into a thin line, his white shirt splattered with blood—though she couldn't tell whose it was.
He seemed to be in terrible condition.
Agony was etched across his flawless features.
Yet he held her hand. She couldn't tell if he was conscious or acting on instinct.
Whether the pain was so unbearable he was seeking comfort from her, or if hearing her cry made his subconscious reach out to soothe her.
He had found out.
Leo had secretly coordinated with the hotel to set up the fire department air cushion.
He had laid out the plan in advance.
Otherwise... two lives would have been lost today.
But the point was, when Sebastian didn't hesitate to jump and catch Lily, he hadn't even checked to confirm if the cushion or any protection was actually in place. He just made the decision in a split second.
"...I know," Raelynn replied, her brain unable to process anything else.
Until Lily was out of danger, she couldn't stay calm.
She closed her eyes, knowing she couldn't fall apart like this.
The incident had caused too much chaos, and they had practically abandoned a massive crowd of guests. She tilted her head and asked, "The hotel... you can go handle things there. I'll be fine on my own."
Ian shook his head. "It's fine. I had my secretary sort it out. Lily is my daughter too. I'll wait with you."

Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
