Lily waved at Sebastian, her voice dripping with sweetness. "See you next time."
Sebastian caught the brief flash of discomfort on Raelynn's face when she struggled with the title, offering a low "Mhm" in response.
The mother and daughter walked away.
Halfway down the hall, Lily glanced over her shoulder and waved again.
Sebastian stood with one hand in his pocket, watching them go.
He couldn't pull his eyes away.
He waited until they vanished around the corner.
Only then did he snap out of his daze and approach the hospital room door.
He peered through the glass at Rowan, who had drifted back into a restless sleep.
His mind echoed with her delirious screams from earlier—calling out for "Lydia," screaming over and over that "Lydia couldn't have committed suicide"...

Over the next few days, Raelynn took time off from work.
She dedicated every free second to visiting the hospital.
Rowan's condition fluctuated wildly.
She had been asleep for so long; rewiring her brain was going to take time.
Raelynn knew she couldn't rush the process.
She repeatedly told Rowan that she was Sunny, her daughter.
Rowan's expression would soften for a fleeting moment, only for the memory to slip away again.
Other than her breakdown on the first day, Rowan spent most of her time staring blankly out the window.
Raelynn simply sat with her, recounting stories of everything that had happened over the years.
Of course, she only shared the good parts.
She completely omitted the struggles and the pain.
During this time, Raelynn grew friendly with the nurses on the floor.
As she was heading out to grab lunch, one of them approached her. "Ms. Ortiz, did you and your husband split the shifts? You come during the day, and he visits at night. It's incredibly rare to see a son-in-law that devoted."

The readers' comments on the novel: Boss, Your Wife Signed the Divorce Agreement Before the Wedding
Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
