Seraphina's shrieks as she was dragged away were ear-piercing.
Over by the other side, Quentin had caught Sylvia.
She hastily rushed over to Raelynn. "I'm so sorry, my hands and feet were tied, and I couldn't keep my balance. The wind from the helicopter was too strong. Thank god I didn't actually fall. I know nothing I say can make up for it. Ms. Ortiz, please don't blame Quentin either. He only said that because he thought you were still unconscious..."
Sylvia's eyes were red as she made excuses for Quentin.
She was terrified that Raelynn would truly hold a grudge against him because of this.
Raelynn didn't want to engage with them.
She was exhausted.
Right now, nothing else mattered to her.
Nothing was more important than Lily's safety.
She didn't say a word.
Ian kept his arm tightly around her, his pace steady, but from the corner of his eye, he shot a dark look at Julian. "Mr. Yves, handle the situation with Seraphina for me. My hands are full right now."
Julian understood exactly what Ian meant.
Ian had guessed Raelynn's connection to the Yves family.
This was a reminder that Raelynn might be Julian's sister, making this his responsibility—especially since this entire crisis was brought upon them by the Yves family.
"Raelynn," Quentin said, his expression heavy. His lips trembled, and he couldn't help but open his mouth to speak to Raelynn as she walked past him.
But Raelynn didn't even look back.
It was unclear if she hadn't heard him or if she simply couldn't bear to face him.
Quentin stiffened slightly.
A flash of sorrow crossed Sylvia's face as she stepped forward and gently grasped his hand.
Watching this unfold, Julian said coldly, "Do you realize you nearly got Raelynn killed just now? If Seraphina had been triggered and pushed her, a hundred of your lives wouldn't be enough to pay for it!"
Sylvia froze, seemingly plunged into deep guilt by Julian's harsh words.
Tears fell unconsciously from her eyes.
Quentin felt even more stifled and aggravated. As anger and inexplicable frustration surged through him—especially since Sylvia was once again taking all the blame—he said, "Don't humor him. He's always been unforgiving. You have a gentle disposition; there's no need to let this ungrateful son upset you."
Julian didn't want to utter another word.
He walked past the two of them and left.
Ian brought Raelynn downstairs. Sebastian and Lily were already in the ambulance.
They were in a remote area; the nearest hospital in the city was a half-hour drive away.
Raelynn insisted on riding in the same vehicle as Lily.
Ian didn't stop her and helped her inside.
As for him, he had to handle the aftermath at the scene.
There were too many guests here today. Not a single word of what happened could be leaked, or it would trigger a massive public relations nightmare.
Neither the Hudson family nor the Croix family could afford that.

Sebastian, the man of few words.... needs to find all the words! Needs to fight for her! On note, seven years seems like a long time for this master plan (which I am sure goes back much farther). Rereading this novel, and it seems like everything has played out in a 5-8 month time span. And I feel like all Sebastian's doings/ plan have not been revealed. I hope we get to see the whole picture and have the resolutions we hope. But seven years of mistreatment, I just don't see Raelynn fully coming back. If these was 2-3 years, maybe, and I know it changes some characters around, but it would still work. Rooting for them!...
Literally on edge!...
No, no, no! Sebastian needs to nip the Zella situation and win Raelynn back! Also, Leo, he is a wildcard for Sebastian's master plan... Sebastian- we know you know, what we know, win your family back!...
I thought now Sebastian and Raelynn will be together now that seraphina is not but you are not letting them to be. Two new female around Sebastian 😭...
I think Ian is sly. He is not what he seems. Sebastian loves Raelyn and they have a daughter together. Besides he has no family to even take care of him. I feel Raelyn should realise that Sebastian is only her true love and go back to him....
The croix family is evil...
