Bait for a Gentleman novel Chapter 91

Zachary was stunned for a moment.

Seeing Audrina's completely unfazed expression, a sliver of self-doubt crept in.

Was he mistaken?

Why didn't her gaze waver or dodge his, instead holding a faint trace of disappointment?

Since they were still in public, Zachary softened his expression. "We'll talk about this when we get home."

They drove in silence.

Once back, Audrina went straight to the master bathroom and started her makeup removal routine.

Zachary leaned against the doorframe, his gaze locked on her back.

Ever since they got engaged, she had always been docile and understanding in front of him; whether it was genuine or an act, she had never once lost her temper.

But today, from the moment they left the private room until they walked through their front door, she hadn't spoken a single word to him.

Her eyes were brimming with impatience, making it clear she had no desire to engage with him.

The entire situation made Zachary deeply uncomfortable.

He was the one who had caught her red-handed, yet her attitude made him feel like he was the one on trial.

He walked over and stood right behind her.

In the mirror, the distance between them was less than half a step.

She kept her eyes cast down as she wiped her face, completely ignoring his presence.

Zachary wanted to sit down and have a proper conversation about what the hell those photos were about.

He reached out to pull her in by the waist.

Audrina sidestepped, and his hands grasped nothing but empty air.

He frowned, watching as she screwed the cap back onto the micellar water and tossed her cotton pad into the trash, treating him as if he didn't even exist.

"Honey."

Audrina didn't answer, simply picking up her facial cleanser from the vanity.

Zachary was losing his patience.

He remembered how she hadn't even flinched when Sebastian touched her hand earlier today.

How many times had Sebastian touched her? How far had they gone?

She was still wearing his engagement ring—what right did anyone else have to lay a hand on her?

He grabbed her shoulders and forced her to turn around.

Audrina looked up, her voice completely flat. "What are you doing?"

Zachary hated this fake, prudish act of hers.

He leaned down to capture her lips, but she immediately turned her head to dodge him.
