Chapter 385
STEA
Roxanne felt humiliated and shot Natasha a fierce glare. “What are you doing here?” she asked.
Before Natasha could answer, Amanda cut in with a sneer, “What else could a woman be doing in a hotel?”

Her mocking tone made it clear she was insinuating Natasha was doing something shameless. All at once, everyone’s eyes locked onto Natasha, their faces showing a mix of curiosity and judgment.
“Whatever brought you here, brought me here too,” Natasha replied, looking at Amanda, sounding steady and calm.
Back then, Amanda had pushed Roxanne to arrange Natasha’s marriage to Percy. Amanda’s daughter, Bindi, had a thing for Percy, but Amanda looked down on Percy for being an illegitimate son. She was afraid her daughter would have no future with him.
Therefore, she talked Roxanne into marrying Natasha off to Percy instead, even snarking that an illegitimate daughter and an illegitimate son made a perfect match.
But Amanda had never expected Percy to turn things around and actually have a shot at inheriting the Grosso family fortune. She was frustrated for having misjudged him, but since she couldn’t blame herself, she just started nitpicking Natasha instead.
The moment Natasha said that, no one dared to question her anymore. It was as if doubting her meant doubting themselves.
Natasha snorted lightly and turned to leave. Just then, a sharp crack sounded in the hotel lobby. The ceiling above the chandelier started to crack, and then, the whole crystal chandelier came crashing down.
As it happened so fast, no one saw it coming. Everyone just watched helplessly as the chandelier came crashing down, aiming right for Roxanne’s head.
Roxanne was paralyzed with fear, completely stunned. She couldn’t move a muscle, frozen in place. Her mind went completely blank.
“Watch out!” Natasha shouted. She sprang into action, rushing over and pushing Roxanne out of harm’s way.
Roxanne tumbled to the ground, and the chandelier crashed down right next to her. Glass shards from the chandelier rained down, cutting her arm. The pain was overwhelming, and Roxanne passed out instantly.
After the incident, Natasha reached out to the Whittier family. But her father, Sandra, or Joelle didn’t bother to come over. She was left waiting alone outside the emergency room.
Natasha had planned to leave as soon as her father or Joelle showed up. After all, she and Roxanne weren’t close at all. There was even plenty of bad blood between them in the past.
She had already gone above and beyond by saving Roxanne’s life, putting aside all the past grudges. Whatever happened next was no longer her concern.
However, none of the Whittier family members showed up. Instead, a nurse came rushing out of the emergency room, clearly in a panic.
“Is Roxanne Whittier’s family here?” the nurse called out.
“Yes, what’s going on?” Natasha stepped forward, looking confused, and asked.
The nurse explained, “The patient is elderly and has lost a lot of blood. She needs a transfusion right now or her life’s at risk!

But her blood type is pretty rare, RH-A, and we’ve just run out in our blood bank.
“It’ll take at least twenty minutes to get it from another hospital. If anyone in her family has RH-A blood, that would be perfect…”
“Yes, I am,” Natasha blurted out, before the nurse could even finish.
The nurse looked excited. “That’s perfect! Please come with me!” she said.
Natasha followed the nurse to get her blood drawn. After donating her blood for Roxanne, the doctor said Roxanne was finally out of the woods.
The Whittier family finally sent someone over. Natasha was finally free to leave the hospital. But instead of heading straight home, she walked down the street all by herself. Her mood was a mess, heavy and complicated.
She never imagined she would ever have to donate blood to Roxanne. In the Whittier family, Roxanne was the one who made her feel most unwelcome.
Joelle bullied her constantly; it was all because she had Roxanne’s support. She never thought she would be the one to save Roxanne’s life, let alone end up donating blood for her.
And to top it off, Roxanne actually shared the same rare RH-A blood type as her. ‘What a coincidence!’ she thought.
