Chapter 384
‘Has Percy lost his mind? How dare he treat me like this?’ Joelle thought, pissed off. ‘He used to be my little puppy, always chasing after me. Do guys really turn rotten once they’re loaded?’ she wondered.
‘Now that Percy’s the Grosso heir, rich and powerful, he thinks he can treat me however he wants?’ Joelle grumbled inwardly.
A sinister, cold fury flickered in Percy’s eyes. He exuded a dangerous aura, every movement radiating menace. He hated the fact that Joelle had fooled him.
No one had ever fooled him like this before. He had thought that he had finally found the girl he had been holding in his heart all these years. But then it was all a lie. Joelle wasn’t the girl, and he had actually divorced Natasha før Joelle.
The more Percy dwelled on it, the more pissed off he became. He felt that Joelle had totally screwed him over, and he had to punish her. Unconsciously, he squeezed her neck even harder, his grip growing dangerously tight, and a chilling, murderous intent flashed in his eyes.
“Let go of me; let…” Joelle choked out, her voice hoarse as she struggled frantically. She tried to call out for help, but Percy’s grip kept tightening, merciless and unrelenting. Joelle was running out of air, her head spinning. In the end, she blacked out.
Natasha didn’t check out the hotel until four in the afternoon. After breakfast, she crashed back into bed and slept for a long time. She only woke up when she fully restored her energy. After freshening up, she checked out of the hotel, totally unfazed.
Even though she and Jared had some drama earlier, Natasha didn’t think it was a big deal. Jared wasn’t her husband or boyfriend; he was just her friend with benefits and boss.
Moreover, she hadn’t screwed up professionally or anything. As a friend with benefits, her only job was to make sure he was happy in bed. She had gone out of her way to please him so many times last night; he had to be satisfied.
Even if she had rubbed him the wrong way once or twice, she figured he wouldn’t make a big deal out of it. Worst case, when they met again, she would play nice with him and make a little extra effort in bed. She figured the whole thing would blow over in no time.
Natasha felt even more convinced that being a friend with benefits with Jared was the best decision she had ever made. Since they were just friends with benefits, all she had to care about was keeping him happy in bed; there was no need to waste feelings or play nice.
She also needn’t worry if he was pissed over something small. Physical stuff was always way more straightforward than all that heart-to-heart nonsense.
Natasha stepped out of the elevator, her high heels clicking as she headed toward the hotel entrance. Suddenly, she ran into a group of wealthy ladies strutting toward the hotel entrance. Leading the pack was none other than Roxanne.
She was dressed head-to-toe in designer brands, clutching a limited-edition handbag. The others flocked around her, treating her like the queen bee.
All these wealthy ladies were from Roxanne’s social circle. They regularly met up for their high-society gatherings. Today, they were meeting at a five-star hotel for afternoon tea. Of all people, they ran right into Natasha.
Natasha was all set to act like she hadn’t noticed them and make a quiet exit. But before she could make her escape, someone called out, “Isn’t this Natasha? Why are you coming down from the hotel room?”
The person who called out was Amanda Keating, Roxanne’s so-called best friend. She was always secretly jealous of Roxanne and was constantly trying to outshine her.

Now that she had caught Roxanne’s “daughter” coming out of the hotel, she couldn’t help but make a scene, practically shouting so everyone in the lobby would hear the juicy news.
