Chapter 383
At Whittier Manor, in Joelle’s room, she said, “Percy, I want to give myself to you!”
As soon as she brought Percy into the room, Joelle began to undress. Her flawless and graceful figure was completely exposed before him. Every curve was in all the right places, a naked and irresistible temptation.
This was the body Percy had longed for, the one he had desired for ages. His greatest dream had always been to make Joelle his own, his woman.
But now, as he stood there, watching her undress right in front of him, he felt nothing.
His mind was consumed by just one thought. He needed to confirm whether that handkerchief really belonged to Joelle That was the real reason he had come to Whittier Manor tonight.
Bringing Natasha back was just an excuse; what mattered most was hearing Joelle tell him in person whose handkerchief really was.
“Get dressed. I wanna ask you something,” Percy said, his face stern, his tone brooking no argument.
Joelle looked at him, stunned, disbelief written all over her face. She wondered if she had heard him wrong. ‘Percy’s always wanted me, hasn’t he?’ Joelle thought. ‘Now that I’m throwing myself at him, why isn’t he all over me?’
“Get dressed!” Percy commanded again, his voice even more forceful this time.
Only then did Joelle realize. ‘He really doesn’t want her, she thought, surprised. She quickly slipped her clothes back on and moved closer to him, her slender figure brushing against him, arms wrapped around his waist.
“What do you want to ask me? Why are you so serious?” Joelle asked, pouting, and shooting him a teasing, sideways glance.
However, Percy coolly removed her hands from his waist and looked at her condescendingly, his eyes scrutinizing and cold. “Do you still remember this handkerchief?” He took out his phone and held up a photo of the rainbow bear handkerchief for
her to see.
Joelle glanced at it, looking puzzled. “I don’t remember it at all.” It was just a handkerchief. ‘Why did he suddenly make such a big deal out of it?’ Joelle wondered.
Percy’s gaze turned sharp. “Think again,” he said, his tone pressing.
Joelle frowned, a hint of annoyance in her voice. “Why did you suddenly bring this up?”
She had finally worked up the nerve to forget Nicolas and give Percy a shot. ‘But instead of cherishing that, you’re making me think about some totally irrelevant handkerchief, she thought.
Anger started to cloud Percy’s eyes. He seized her wrist, his voice cold and forceful. “Think again; now.”
Joelle was startled. She couldn’t believe Percy would actually talk to her in this manner. ‘He used to bend over backwards for me. Why is he acting like a whole new person all of a sudden?’ Joelle thought, baffled
“I really don’t remember!” Joelle shot back, clearly annoyed.
Percy stared at her, his eyes sharp. “So this handkerchief isn’t yours?”
Joelle found the whole thing was ridiculous. “Just some cheap, ordinary handkerchief without a brand. How could that ever be mine?” she snorted.
She couldn’t even remember if she had ever seen the handkerchief before. But she was sure of one thing; it definitely wasn’t hers.

Chapter 383
ETEA
She was the real heiress of the Whittier family, at least that was what everyone believed. So ever since she was a kid, everything she consumed was top-of-the-line, all luxury brands. No way she would ever give a cheap handkerchief a second glance.
Percy’s eyes narrowed suddenly, shock hitting him hard. It was like a bolt from the blue. Joelle’s just admitted it herself; the handkerchief isn’t hers. I really have gotten it all wrong, he thought in shock.
‘If the handkerchief isn’t hers, then that little girl in the yellow dress who saved me back then couldn’t be her!/he thought.
A wave of rage crashed over Percy. He had been fooled, and the realization hit him hard. He was burning with fury. practically seething.
“If this handkerchief isn’t yours, then why did you have it?” Percy clamped his hand around Joelle’s neck, demanding fiercely, his anger barely contained.
Joelle looked utterly confused. This handkerchief isn’t mine. How did it end up with me?’ she wondered.
“Did you get it wrong? I’ve never seen this handkerchief before,” Joelle snapped, forcing the words out through gritted teeth.
