Natasha was about to hang up the phone. Jared suddenly fixed his gaze on her and asked, “Who’s calling?”

Natasha snapped back to reality, her heart racing. She blurted out. “It’s just a spam call…”

Jared pressed his lips into a thin line, staring at her for a long moment. His eyes were as dark as the restless currents hidden beneath the surface of the sea.

Natasha’s heart suddenly felt heavy; she could tell Jared didn’t buy her story. And honestly, she was lying.

She knew Jared minded Percy. He’d already asked her more than once to divorce Percy and be with him./If he found out the call was from Percy, he might totally lose it again out of jealousy.

Natasha was still lost in worry when Jared suddenly pressed her up against the elevator wall. His handsome face moved in so close that she could practically feel his breath on her skin.

The cramped space felt suffocating, making the gap between them shrink to nothing. If was as if their breaths were tangled together, impossible to tell whose was whose.

For a moment, it felt like the elevator was completely void of air. The air was so thin that Natasha felt like she was suffocating.

Natasha stared, stunned, as Jared leaned in and pressed his lips against hers. Her mind went completely blank.

“This is the CEO’s exclusive elevator!’ she thought. ‘Is he seriously kissing me in here?’

She instinctively struggled against him, but Jared’s eyes were so dark, like a bottomless abyss. It felt like they could pull her right in.

For a moment, she forgot to resist, and her heart was hammering in her chest. Each beat echoed louder than the last.

It was racing so fast, she wondered if it could even keep up. The air felt so thin that she was gasping for breath. She felt dizzy, like the ground was slipping away beneath her feet.

If Jared hadn’t kept his arm around her waist, she would’ve lost her balance completely. Her legs were so shaky, she nearly collapsed right there.

Jared had only meant to teach her a lesson, to make sure she remembered. But her lips were so soft and sweet, it sent his blood racing even hotter.

He couldn’t control himself anymore; he pulled her closer by the back of her head and kissed her fiercely, unable to hold back his desire.

Natasha could only let out a muffled whimper. Jared was so overpowering, she was completely powerless to resist.

Her lips were left swollen from his relentless kisses, and her tongue tingled from the intensity of them. Each breath carried his warmth, leaving her with the sense that everything had slipped beyond her control.

She felt herself being irresistibly drawn in. It was only when soft footsteps sounded outside the elevator that Natasha snapped back to reality, jolting as though abruptly awakened from a dream.

She realized the elevator button hadn’t even been pressed. Someone was about to step inside.

Natasha’s cheeks burned as she struggled for breath. Panic surged through her as she hastily tried to pull away, gripped by the fear that someone might walk in and catch them kissing in the elevator.

Their relationship had to remain hidden. To the outside world, they were simply the CEO and his assistant. If anyone

Jared kept kissing her, lingering and unwilling to stop. Natasha couldn’t push him away, so she steeled herself and lifted her knee, ready to give him a good kick.

But Jared caught on before she could do it and released her. Jared gently cradled Natasha’s flushed, gorgeous face in his hands, his gaze deep and smoldering. “So, you really don’t want happiness with me for the rest of your life?”

“Like I even want that!” Natasha shot him a furious, embarrassed glare, cheeks burning.

He didn’t have to worry; he was the Big boss, after all. If anyone saw her making out with him in the elevator, she would have no way to survive in the company afterward.

Just as they were staring each other down, the elevator doors opened. Derek stepped inside. “Oh, hey, Mr. Rundell, Natasha, you guys are both here?” he said, sounding a bit surprised.

He was about to say hi, but suddenly sensed something was off in the elevator. When he looked closer, he noticed Natasha’s cheeks were flushed way more than normal.

Jared hated that anyone else got to see Natasha looking so cute and flustered after their kiss; her shy, irresistible expression was supposed to be for him alone.
