An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 376

Chapter 376

“Get out!” Jared snapped, his voice low and commanding.

Before Derek could even react, Natasha had already bolted out of the elevator. She rushed into the nearby staff elevator and punched the button for the first floor.

Derek suddenly realized he’d just barged in and totally crashed Jared’s moment. “Mr. Rundell, I…” Derek tried to say something, flustered. But faced with Jared’s killer stare, he hurried out of the elevator without another word

As soon as Natasha walked out of the office building, a luxury stretch Bentley rolled up right in front of her. The back window slid down, revealing Percy’s familiar, handsome face.

She froze for a second, but quickly realized it was no big shock.

With Brent gone, it had been only natural for Percy to step up as the Grosso family heir. It was no wonder he had been cruising around in a ride like this. After all, Percy was no longer the man he used to be.

“Get in,” Percy ordered, his voice cutting through the air.

Natasha lowered her eyes, opened the door, and got in. Percy signaled the driver to start the car.

“Want something to drink?” Percy suddenly turned and asked.

Natasha watched him open up the Bentley’s bar, but she just shook her head. She couldn’t bring herself to drink anything right now.

She just wanted to hurry back to Whittier Manor and get her task over with. If Bernard saw her bring Percy back, maybe he’d finally stop giving Dorothy a hard time.

What Natasha didn’t realize was that her absent-minded attitude was seriously irritating Percy. She hadn’t even spared him at single look since getting in the car.

The girl who used to gaze at me with those striking, clear eyes, always smiling; how did I suddenly disappear from her world?’ Percy thought, feeling a surge of frustration.

Percy couldn’t even tell when things between him and Natasha had ended up like this. He always thought he hated her. After all, she’d been occupying the spot he’d meant for Joelle, as Mrs. Grosso.

But after the divorce, he was surprised to realize he didn’t actually dislike her that much. Now that Joelle was divorced too. he was shocked to find he didn’t even have the urge to marry her anymore.

Yet here he was, all because of a single message from Natasha, clearing his packed schedule just to accompany her back to Whittier Manor. Percy couldn’t even figure himself out anymore.

Natasha was deep in her own world, her mind wandering. Suddenly, she could feel a hot stage coming from right next to

her.

She glanced over, wondering what was up, and ended up meeting Percy’s eyes head-on.

A flicker of surprise ran through her. ‘Why is Percy looking at me so strangely today?’ Natasha wondered, feeling unsettled. ‘Am I just imagining things? Why is he giving me that look, the one he used to reserve for Joelle?

‘Has he been so busy lately that he hasn’t even seen Joelle?’ she mused, trying to make sense of it. ‘Is he just staring at me because I remind him of Joelle?’

“So…. I heard your brother died?” Natasha said, hoping to change the subject.

She only wanted to distract Percy, anything to draw his attention away from her. After all, being treated as someone else’s stand-in was unbearable.

“Yeah, Percy murmured, giving a slight nod. He looked at her and said, “In a few days, come with me to his funeral.”

Natasha couldn’t help but feel unwilling. She and Percy were already divorced. Brent’s funeral was really a family affair it wasn’t her place to be there.

But she’d signed an agreement with Percy to keep their divorce under wraps and pretend for appearances. Since Percy had gone out of his way to play along with her at Whittier Manor tonight, she figured she owed him one.

“Alright,” Natasha said.

A flicker of surprise flashed across Percy’s face when she agreed. He couldn’t help but let a small smile curl his lips, instinctively scooting a little closer to her, as if he just wanted to be near.
