Chapter 373
Collin was practically bouncing with excitement as he told Natasha the good news.
But Natasha was surprisingly calm. “Okay,” she replied.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Collin asked, clearly confused. Her reaction totally caught Collin off guard.
“You totally lucked out! Percy’s about to hit the big time!” Collin blurted out.

He used to think Percy was just some broke, powerless nobody, an illegitimate son with nothing going for him. Honestly Collin never even bothered to take Percy seriously.
All he ever wanted was for Joelle to latch onto Nicolas, so they could get close to the Milford family.
Who could’ve guessed Percy was the real hidden gem all along? Just like that, he became the heir to the Grosso family overnight.
Given Natasha was born out of wedlock, if she hadn’t married Percy first, she’d never have had a shot at being Mrs. Grosso.
“Do you have anything else to say?” Natasha sounded a little impatient.
She and Percy had been divorced for quite some time now. From the day they got divorced, whatever happened to Percy, whether he struck it rich or ended up broke, had nothing to do with her anymore.
Percy replacing his older brother as heir? That was his business, not hers.
“Of course!” Collin replied. He nodded without hesitation.
He was completely oblivious to what Natasha was really thinking. He went on, reminding her, “You need to seize this opportunity and make sure Percy feels appreciated.”
Natasha paused, a bit taken aback. ‘Is Collin seriously telling me to suck up to Percy now?’ she thought, incredulous.
“Weren’t you just telling me to get on Jared’s good side?” she shot back.
Collin grinned and switched gears with a laugh. “Hey, things change! Now that Percy’s about to inherit the Grosso family fortune, why go looking for someone else when you’ve already got the golden ticket?”
Honestly, he’d been hoping Natasha would try to snag Jared before. But with her background, even if she managed to hook up with Jared, she’d never be more than his side piece.
But Percy? That was a whole different ball game. She was already married to Percy.
Natasha was now the rightful Second Young Mistress of the Grosso family, and someday, she’d be the matriarch of the household. Obviously, she had to figure out how to secure her place and make sure no one could shake her position.
Natasha narrowed her eyes. “Why don’t you have Joelle try to cozy up to Percy? With a ‘good thing like this, wouldn’t you want your own sister to cash in?”
Collin scoffed, sounding downright dismissive. “Joelle’s just not cut out for it! She got kicked out of the Milford family after her first marriage, and now that she’s a divorcee, there’s no way she’d get a proper place in the Grosso family.
“You really think she could just walk in and become Mrs. Grosso? Not a chance.”
Even if Percy was crazy enough to dump his wife and marry Joelle now, with his current status, the best she could hope for would be to end up as his mistress.
Chapter 373
Better let Natasha hold onto her spot as Second Young Mistress of the Grosso family. Compared to Joelle, Natasha was way more valuable to him.
Natasha didn’t plan to turn him down outright. After all, Collin had just helped her get the leverage she needed against her father, Bernard. She wasn’t about to burn bridges with him or turn against him this soon.
Natasha’s gaze cooled as she replied, “Got it. It’s getting late, I need to get some rest.”
Collin made sure to remind her, “Dad wants you to bring Percy back for dinner tomorrow night.”
Natasha’s brow furrowed. “What?”
Ever since she got married, Bernard had never invited her and Percy over to Whittier Manor for dinner, not even once.
To Bernard, both Natasha and Percy were just illegitimate kids, not worth showing off. He preferred to keep them out of sight, out of mind. But now, breaking his usual pattern, he actually had Collin tell her to bring Percy home for dinner.
Most likely, he’d seen the news about Brent’s dying and realized Percy was now the heir to the Grosso family. So he was calling them back just to curry favor, now that Percy mattered.
“Dad wants you to bring Percy back to Whittier Manor for dinner tomorrow night,” Collin repeated.
Natasha replied coolly, “I’ll be working late tomorrow. I won’t have time.”
She and Percy were already divorced, and unless she absolutely had to, she had zero interest in seeing him again.
“Dad figured you’d refuse, so he said if you do as he asks, he’ll go easy on your friend,” Collin relayed, repeating Bernard’s exact words.
