Natasha gave him a guarded look. “What are you doing?” She had just reminded him that this was her hospital room. Why is he still messing around with me?’ Natasha thought.

Jared’s hazel eyes, intense, locked onto her. “You managed to reel me in so quickly; did you pull some kind of stunt?” he

asked.

Natasha felt irritated and yet amused. ‘Seriously, when did I ever seduce him?’ she thought, speechless. She rolled her eyes and retorted, “What stunt do you think I could use?”

Jared leaned in, breathing in deeply against her graceful neck. “You’ve got this natural fragrance about you,” he murmured.

Every time they were intimate, that scent captivated him completely. It made him breathe faster, his heart race. He felt like he could go on forever.

“Really?” Natasha shot him a playful glare, denying it.

“Yes, really!” Jared’s hazel eyes grew even more intense as he leaned in, his tall frame moving closer to her hospital bed.

Natasha suddenly felt his big hand grab her soft waist. Flustered and annoyed, she slapped his hand away. “What are you doing?” She found it unbelievable that he still could keep his hands to himself, even in a hospital room.

Jared’s eyes blazed as he said, “I want to take off your clothes and see for myself.”

Natasha was speechless at his words. “I told you, this is a hospital! Can you stop fooling around?” she then said.

“Nope!” Jared replied, totally unfazed. He came at her again without hesitation. His hand slid under her blouse, and his eyes instantly widened in surprise. “You’re not wearing a bra?” he blurted out.

Natasha’s eyes practically shot fire. “Didn’t you just feel it?” she asked. ‘Why bother asking when you already know?’ Natasha thought, rolling her eyes. ‘Isn’t that just redundant?’

Jared’s brows furrowed tightly. “Wait, does that mean everyone else has seen it?”

Natasha paused, then couldn’t help but retort, “First, my hospital gown isn’t see-through. Second, whether I’m lying down or sitting up, the blanket’s always pulled up to my arms. And third, who would be checking me out so in detail besides you?”

Jared thought for a moment. “Fair enough,” he finally said.

Natasha’s eyes flashed with barely contained patience. “Can you move your hand away now?”

‘His hand is still under my blouse. Isn’t that inappropriate?’ Natasha thought, feeling flustered. The skin under his palm felt like it was about to burst into flames.

Jared acted as if he didn’t hear her at all, leaning in so close his breath tickled her ear. “So, feeling anything now?”

Natasha was totally speechless. “Come on, I’m still a patient now. What do you expect me to feel?”

Jared’s gaze was practically smoldering. “If you’re not feeling anything, why are you blushing?”

Natasha, embarrassed, fanned herself with her hand. She retorted, but not really meaning it, “Maybe I’m just too hot, okay?”

Jared’s eyes locked onto her. “Take your clothes off then!” he said.

Natasha was at a loss for words. Jared shamelessly offered, “I’ll help you.”

Natasha shot back, “Get lost!”

But Jared shamelessly retorted, “If I leave, who’s gonna keep you company?”

Natasha stared at him, annoyed. “Who needs your company?”

Jared looked her straight in the eye. “Really? You don’t want my company?”

Natasha gave a little huff and turned her face away. Jared dragged a chair over and plopped himself down right beside her bed. “I’ll just stick around and watch you sleep,” he said with a shameless smirk.

Natasha was speechless. She really wanted to sleep, but she couldn’t at all. Especially with Jared right there beside her, it was even impossible to try.

But she didn’t dare move. She was worried that if she stayed awake, Jared would seize the opportunity to mess with her.

“You can’t sleep, huh?” Jared could tell she wasn’t sleepy at all.

Natasha was at a loss for words. “Want me to tell you a story?” Jared asked.

Natasha was surprised. ‘Seriously? He actually knows how to tell stories?’ Natasha thought, a bit amused.

Seeing that he didn’t respond, Jared just started talking on his own. “Once upon a time, there was a princess.”
