Natasha drank the water in one big gulp. She had just set the glass down, about to catch her breath, when suddenly, Jared snatched the glass right out of her hand.

“You…” Before Natasha could finish speaking, Jared had already drained the remaining water in the glass. Natasha was at a loss for words and even more surprised.

He made her feel like he was tasting her lips. Natasha couldn’t help but feel awkward. “Why are you drinking my water? she grumbled.

Jared shrugged and said, “I’m thirsty too.”

Natasha rolled her eyes, asking, “Why don’t you just get your own?”

‘Seriously, why must he drink from my glass?’ she wondered.

Jared didn’t bother to reply. In the darkness, she couldn’t make out his face, but his hazel eyes seemed to shine especially bright as he stared at her.

She pressed her lips together awkwardly and said, “Let go of me. I want to go back to sleep.” Since it was still dark outside, she wanted to catch a bit more sleep.

But instead of letting her go, Jared scooped her up into his arms. “Hey, what are you doing?” Natasha’s hands instinctively wrapped around his neck as she cried out in surprise.

Jared’s hazel eyes locked onto hers. “I’m taking you to bed,” he said.

Natasha was left speechless. ‘Did he say ‘go to bed’? Is he actually thinking about…?’ Natasha’s heart raced, uneasy and

nervous.

Jared carried her back to the bedroom, laid her on his bed, and tucked her in under the covers. His every action was unusually gentle. Finally, he leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “Goodnight. Rest well,” he murmured.

He then turned to leave. Natasha called out in surprise, “Is that all? Nothing else?”

Jared paused, turned back to her, and raised an eyebrow. “Are you hoping for something to happen?”

His dark gray robe had fallen open when he picked her up just now, showing off his sexy, well-toned, sculpted muscles, oozing sex appeal, and pure manliness. Paired with his cold, strikingly handsome face, he looked both restrained and aristocratically refined.

But Natasha knew better than anyone else what Jared was like when he let his guard down, when his hazel eyes burned with wild, reckless passion.

She reached out and took his hand, her voice gentle. “I’m yours tonight if you want me.” She had already gotten some sleep. so she felt rested now.

Moreover, he was just in time to save her tonight. It was only right for her to stay by his side tonight. Natasha didn’t mind getting intimate with him.

Jared’s eyes were smoldering with desire. He gave his lips a quick lick. “Really?” he asked.

Natasha nodded and then closed her eyes. She could tell Jared was craving her. Back in the kitchen, when his tall body pressed against hers, she felt his desire clear as day.

But the kiss she was waiting for didn’t happen. Instead, Jared just tucked her in. Natasha opened her eyes in surprise. Jared’s hazel eyes were smoldering as he stared at her, unable to hide the desire burning inside.

But his tone was calm and controlled when he said, “I do want you, but tonight was rough for you. Get some rest for a few days, and we’ll see then.”

Natasha was stunned. She couldn’t believe he actually turned her down. Jared smirked. “If you have any urges tonight, you’ll just have to hold back.”

Natasha’s cheeks flushed bright red. ‘Who said I was the one with urges?’ she thought, mortified. ‘I was just trying to satisfy you and return your favor,’ Natasha thought.

‘Great, my good intentions just got completely twisted. Now it looks like I’m the thirsty one, she grumbled to herself. ‘I’d known you’d react like this, I wouldn’t have said a word.

She buried her head under the covers like an ostrich. A muffled “Goodnight!” came from under the blanket.

Jared couldn’t help but chuckle as he said, “Goodnight, babe.” She then heard his footsteps as he walked away. Following that, he closed the door behind him.

Only then did Natasha crawl out from under the covers. She rested her head on the pillow, her mind going blank. For a while, she thought about so many things. After what felt like forever, she finally drifted off to sleep.

Natasha slept straight through until the sun was already blazing outside. She had finally caught up on her sleep, and now she felt totally refreshed.
