An Affair With The Ceo (Natasha and Jared) novel Chapter 251

Chapter 251 Break Up

Chapter 251 Break Up

Natasha had been under the Whittiers’ watchful eye lately, forced to keep her distance from Jared.

And now, he was on an arranged date with another woman.

Natasha looked away, not wanting to see any more.

Timothea Lipsey asked, her voice soft and a little shy as she looked at Jared, “Mr. Rundell, I got back to the country and I’m not really familiar with this city yet.

“Would you have some time to show me around later?”

Jared answered coolly, “No, I don’t have time.”

Sharon quickly tried to smooth things over. “How could you not have time? Didn’t you cancel your plans for tonight?”

She kept giving her brother pointed looks.

But Jared acted like he didn’t even notice her.

“I’ve got something else to take care of now,” Jared said flatly.

With that, he stood up from his seat.

Earlier, Sharon had called him, saying it had been ages since they’d seen each other and asked him out for dinner, so he canceled his plans for her.

But he hadn’t expected Sharon to bring another woman along.

She claimed the woman was a younger classmate she’d met while studying overseas.

Normally, it wouldn’t have been a big deal for Sharon to bring someone along at the last minute..

But Jared quickly picked up on the way the girl Sharon brought along kept staring at him, totally smitten.

And all through dinner, she was practically falling over herself to butter him up.

He immediately realized what Sharon was up to.

There was no way he could sit through this meal any longer.

Sharon called out, “Jared.”

She quickly stood up, trying to stop her brother.

But Jared didn’t even give her a glance and strode right out of the private room.

Sharon gave Timothea an awkward smile. “My brother’s a bit dense sometimes. Wait here for me, okay?”,

She hurried out after him.

“Jared, stop right there,” Sharon called out.

She rushed over and blocked his way.

“What’s your deal? You’re leaving before we even finish eating?” Sharon demanded.

Jared’s eyes turned cold. “Shouldn’t I be asking you that?”

Sharon raised an eyebrow. “What else could I mean? I’m worried about your personal life, it’s still a mess.

“Mom said you turned down Lizzie Hopkins, the girl Harley introduced to you. She wants you to settle down already.

“My friend from college got back from studying abroad, and honestly, she ticks all the boxes for you. That’s why I set up this meeting. Why are you still so unwilling?”

Jared’s tone was cold. “Stop being so nosy from now on.”

Sharon was left standing there, embarrassed and not sure what to do.

She thought to herself, ‘I’m trying to help him, aren’t I?

‘Why is he acting like this?’

Natasha accidentally knocked a glass onto the floor, and it shattered.

She snapped back to reality.

“Nat, what’s wrong? You’ve been totally out of it ever since you came back from the restroom,” Dorothy asked, looking at her with concern.

Natasha lowered her gaze. “It’s nothing.”

Ever since Natasha had caught Jared having dinner with another woman in that private room, her thoughts kept running

wild.

She kept reminding herself that they were friends with benefits, and who he had dinner with was none of her concern.

She had no right to interfere.

But she couldn’t stop herself from thinking about it.

Natasha wondered, ‘If Jared actually ends up with that woman, does that mean it’s really over between us?

‘Yeah, I guess so.

‘Honestly, whatever we had should’ve ended a long time ago.”

“But you really don’t look so good,” Dorothy said, studying her face.

Natasha instinctively touched her cheek. “Do I?”

Dorothy nodded without hesitation. “Are you not feeling well?”

Natasha really felt awful inside.

Jared was pressuring her to get a divorce, but at the same time, he was going on blind dates with other women.

‘What’s his deal?’ Natasha thought.

“I think I want to go home and rest,” Natasha said, rubbing her forehead.

“Alright, I’ll go with you,” Dorothy replied.

Since Dorothy had finished eating too, she left the private room with Natasha.

They walked out of the restaurant and were heading toward the parking lot.

Suddenly, Dorothy stopped in her tracks and kept shaking Natasha’s arm. “Nat, look. That’s Mr. Rundell’s car.”

Natasha followed her gaze.

Sure enough, it was Jared’s Rolls-Royce.

It was the ultimate luxury ride.

The license plate was unique to him.

There was no way it wouldn’t draw attention.

“Yeah,” Natasha replied softly.

She answered without much emotion and kept walking.

Natasha kept walking.

She moved forward as if nothing was out of the ordinary.

It wasn’t until a familiar voice called her name from the Rolls-Royce that she paused.

Natasha stopped in her tracks.

Dorothy quickly reminded her, “Looks like Mr. Rundell is calling you from his car.”

Then Dorothy hurriedly tugged Natasha over.

“Mr. Rundell,” Dorothy called out.

As soon as she spotted Jared, she flashed a bright smile and waved at him.

Jared lounged in the back seat, looking aloof and exuding an air of refined authority.

He radiated a vibe that made him seem totally out of reach, like he was out of everyone’s league.

He looked like he was born to be admired, like someone people couldn’t help but look up to.

His gaze never left Natasha.

“What are you doing here?” Jared asked.

Natasha pulled out her default polite smile.

She replied coolly, keeping her distance. “I’m here having dinner with a friend.”

Jared glanced at Dorothy, who was standing next to Natasha.

Dorothy smiled and waved at him. “Wow, what are the odds? Didn’t expect to see you here, Mr. Rundell.”

Jared looked back at Natasha. “Get in. I’ll give you guys a ride home.”

“Okay.” Dorothy jumped in.

Natasha was about to say no, but Dorothy beat her to it.

Then Dorothy quickly opened the back door and slipped inside.

With her friend already in the car, Natasha felt it would be awkward not to get in herself.

So Natasha got in from the other side.

She took the seat by the window, with Dorothy between her and Jared, the separation between her and Jared was obvious.

Once inside, Natasha could immediately sense the terrse atmosphere in the car.

Natasha stole a glance at Jared’s cold, aloof profile from the corner of her eye.

He acted like she wasn’t even there.

So she turned away and gazed out the window.

They rode in silence the whole way.

They didn’t say a single word.

They didn’t say a word until they dropped Dorothy off at her place.

Now it was Natasha and Jared left in the back seat.

Jared subtly shifted closer to her.

Before Natasha could react, he had already wrapped his arm around her slender waist.

“Mr. Rundell, keep your hands to yourself,” Natasha said coldly, making it clear she wanted to keep her distance.

Natasha’s voice turned cold as she deliberately put distance between them.

Jared could tell she was intentionally shutting him out, and his expression instantly darkened.

“There’s no one else here, so why should I act all proper?” he murmured, pulling her even closer.

He tightened his hold around her waist, his voice low and intimate right by her ear.

“Let go of me.” Natasha struggled in his arms.

Jared’s eyes darkened. “What’s going on with you lately?

“You don’t reply to my messages, you keep your distance at work, and now you won’t even let me hug you anymore.”

Natasha stayed silent for a long moment.

Finally, she spoke, her voice quiet but firm. “This is where we end. Let’s break it off.”

Jared felt a sharp pang in his chest.

He turned to her, eyes wide with disbelief. “What did you say?”

Natasha looked him straight in the eye. “I’m saying we’re breaking up. This is it. After today, we have nothing to do with

each other.”

“You…” Jared choked out, struggling to find his words.

His pupils contracted sharply, disbelief written all over his face.

It felt like an invisible hand was crushing his heart, making it almost impossible to breathe.

“Stop the car!”

After saying her piece, Natasha called out for the driver to stop.

Once the car came to a halt, she opened the door, ready to get out.

But Jared grabbed her wrist and pulled her back inside.

“You really want to ditch me?” Jared asked, his voice low and full of disbelief.
