Chapter 250 His Blind Date
Chapter 250 His Blind Date
The day Natasha returned to the office, she was greeted with another huge bouquet of roses.
This caused quite a stir among the women on the executive floor. They couldn’t help but envy her.
Camilla Richardson said, her eyes sparkling with amazement, “Joelle, is some trust fund kid after you or something?
“Every time you get flowers, they’re the most expensive in the whole city.”
Natasha smiled and kept quiet…
She looked at the massive bouquet of roses on her desk, not sure what to do with it.
‘Did Percy have someone send these again?’ she wondered.
As she was wondering what to do with them, Jared called her on the intercom, asking her to come to his office.
Natasha knocked on the CEO’s office door.
As soon as Jared saw her, he asked, “How’s your mom doing?”
Natasha was taken aback for a moment.
She figured it was business when he called her in.
But as soon as she stepped inside, he started asking about her family.
Well, at least he cared enough to check on Sandra’s health.
Natasha replied truthfully, “She’s doing much better. Thanks for asking.”
Jared frowned, feeling a bit annoyed.
He really didn’t like how Natasha kept things so distant between them, acting all polite.
There was a brief silence between them.
As Natasha was about to head out and get back to work, Jared called out, “Hey, did you notice the flowers I sent you?”
Natasha was taken aback.
“The roses on my desk… you sent those?” she blurted out.
Jared frowned at her obvious surprise, sounding annoyed. “Who else would it be?”
She’d assumed Percy sent them again.
She’d jumped to the wrong conclusion.
But there was no way she could say Percy’s name out loud in front of Jared.
“I thought it was you too.” Natasha blurted out, quickly trying to cover her tracks.
She hurried to add, “The flowers are really beautiful.”
Jared finally let his annoyance go.
Then Natasha added, “But could you please not send me flowers at work anymore? I don’t want people to start talking.”
The flowers he sent were so expensive. There was no way people wouldn’t notice.
If anyone got curious about what was going on between them, that’d be bad news.
Jared’s mood, which had started to lighten up, soured again.
He gave a low, muffled reply.
Natasha kept things businesslike. “Mr. Rundell, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to get back to work.”
Jared stopped her in time. “Hold on. I made a reservation for tonight. Want to go together after work?”
Natasha’s first instinct was to say no.
“Sorry, Mr. Rundell, my mom’s still in the hospital. I have to go see her after work,” she replied, quickly coming up with an
excuse.
She came up with a quick excuse to turn him down.
The Whittier family had been watching her closely lately.
Roxanne probably had someone following her.
If she went out to dinner with Jared now, they’d definitely spot her.

Then they’d realize the guy she’s been seeing outside is Jared.
Knowing Bernard, he’d use that to force her into working for Harley.
Jared said softly, “Want me to go with you?”
Natasha quickly shook her head, “No, I’ll be fine on my own.”
She was clearly worried Sandra might spot them together at the hospital.
Jared’s eyes darkened a little.
He couldn’t help but feel wounded inside.
While Natasha was on leave, he kept trying to reach out, but she ignored him every time.
He figured she was too caught up in Sandra’s illness to even answer him.
But now that she was finally back at work, he finally got a chance to see her again.
But Natasha was still acting so cold toward him, making it clear she wanted nothing to do with him.
She looked like she couldn’t wait to cut ties and distance herself from him.
Jared felt seriously let down.
“What are you so afraid of?” he suddenly asked, his gaze locked onto her.
Natasha’s eyes flickered. “What?”
Jared’s gaze sharpened. “I’m asking, what exactly are you afraid of? Are you scared your mom will find out, or is it the coworkers out there?
“Worried they’ll know what’s going on between us?”
It was actually both.
Natasha really didn’t want their friends-with-benefits situation going public.
“You promised you’d help me keep this a secret,” she shot back.
She looked back at him.
That was basically her way of admitting she was scared of people finding out.
Jared’s eyes locked onto hers. “Yeah, I promised you that. But don’t forget, you promised me you’d divorce your husband within a month.”
Natasha’s heart gave a little jolt.
That promise was a quick fix she came up with on the spot.
She never expected Jared would actually take her at her word.
“It’s not even been a month yet, has it?” she said, trying to buy herself some time.
She had no choice but to stall for time.
Jared leaned in so close their lips were almost touching, and said softly, “Alright, I’ll be waiting for your good news.”
Then he moved in and kissed her.
Natasha didn’t even have time to react before his lips were pressed against hers.
Jared claimed her mouth, pulling her close as he kissed her with a fierce, hungry passion.
It was as if he poured all the days of pent-up longing into that single kiss.
A knock at the office door finally broke them apart.
Natasha was still catching her breath, her clothes disheveled, not even having time to fix herself.
“Come in,” Jared called out.
Jared had already called them in.
Natasha shot him an annoyed glare, feeling both embarrassed and frustrated.
‘This guy totally did it on purpose, she thought.
Natasha grumbled inwardly, ‘He wanted someone to catch us together.
‘He’s totally doing this on purpose, to get people talking.”
“Boss……”
Luckily, it was Derek who walked in.

Derek froze when he saw Natasha, instantly regretting his timing. He knew he’d barged in at the worst possible momery
“Should I leave you two alone?” Derek asked, glancing at Jared.
He quickly turned to Jared, waiting for his cue.
Natasha cut in before Jared could say anything. “No, it’s fine. You two talk, I’ll head back to work,” she said, eager to make her escape.
With that, Natasha practically bolted out of the office, desperate to escape the awkward scene.
The weekend rolled around.
Dorothy asked Natasha to go shopping with her.
Afterward, they went to an upscale restaurant nearby for dinner.
They arrived late, so the main dining area was already full. They had to pay extra for a private room.
“Should we skip it?” Natasha hesitated, feeling a bit uneasy.
This place is already expensive, and if we get a private room, the bill will be through the roof.
“Why worry? We’re here anyway, let’s splurge a little,” Dorothy said, nudging her up the stairs.
They settled into a cozy private room by the window and started catching up on each other’s lives.
“Wait, you think the Whittier family has been keeping tabs on you lately?” Dorothy blurted out, her eyes wide with shock.
“Yeah,” Natasha nodded.
She glanced out the window and, sure enough, spotted a familiar bodyguard car parked below.
It was Roxanne’s people.
Roxanne still wasn’t giving up on figuring out who Natasha’s mystery guy was.
Dorothy thought for a bit and said, “Why not admit it and tell them you and Percy split up?” Natasha shook her head. “No way. Percy and I had a contract.
“If the Whittier family finds out I divorced him and kept it from them, they’d make my life hell.” Dorothy sighed. “Seriously, that’s tough. Your own family treating you like you’re a thief.” Halfway through dinner, Natasha excused herself to the restroom.
As she walked past one of the luxury private rooms, she unexpectedly spotted Jared inside.
He was having dinner with his sister Sharon and another beautiful woman.
The woman had delicate features and flawless skin, and she looked at Jared with shy, adoring eyes.
She was clearly into him.
But Jared’s expression gave nothing away.
Natasha’s heart skipped a beat.
‘Is he on a blind date?’ Natasha wondered.
