Chloe: [Two days. 40 pieces of Rare Refined Iron, which you can trade for 15 cubic meters of soil, 20 pieces of any Rare Magic Material, or pay upfront with 600 Premium Supplies-and I’ll throw in a weapon.]

AAA_Weapon Depot: [Chloe, are you trying to rob me or what?]

Chloe: [Rare Refined Iron can be used to forge Rare weapons, right? It’s not easy to process. I’ve seen people selling Rare Refined Iron in the trading group, but it’s always single-digit quantities.

[To make a Rare weapon, you probably don’t need more than 20 pieces, right? Plus, the market price for Rare weapons has already gone up to 800 Premium Supplies for a single weapon.]

AAA_Weapon Depot: [Sure, but my Talent Points are limited.]

AAA WeaponDepot went quiet for a long time, and Chloe didn’t bother making another offer. She waited it out. after all, it was AAA_Weapon Depot who was desperate for the Rare Refined Iron, not her.

If all else failed, she could throw the Rare Refined Iron up in the trading group. Stuff like this always sold for a high price.

Chloe waited patiently for two minutes, but AAA_Weapon Depot still didn’t reply. Just then, her Unstable Wish Fishing Rod, which hadn’t caught anything in two days, finally showed some movement.

She closed the interface and hurried over to pick up the rod.

As soon as she lifted it, Chloe immediately sensed something was seriously wrong.

The rod felt way heavier than anything she’d ever reeled in before.

It didn’t feel like she was fishing at all-more like she’d hooked some enormous, mysterious creature lurking below, and no matter how hard she pulled, it just wouldn’t budge.

It was way heavier than the giant Slime she’d caught before.

Chloe’s expression grew serious.

She stared at the faint magical glow coming from her rod, and couldn’t help but wonder. ‘Could it be that this rod has hooked something truly terrifying-something I can’t handle right now?’

Chloe hesitated, loosening the fishing line in her hand. She gripped the task knife granted by the System-the one that could cut through anything-and for a moment, she was tempted to cut the line.

The Unstable Wish Fishing Rod suddenly grew hot, almost frantic, trembling in Chloe’s hand. The fishing line stubbornly pulled at whatever was hooked below, refusing to let go.

Chloe said, “I’ll give you one chance.”

After two days without catching anything, Chloe had already realized that the System’s prize pool kept accumulating.

Whatever she was about to reel in this time definitely wasn’t going to be easy.

Chloe took a deep breath, channeled her magic into the groove, and with all her strength, hauled up the massive creature hooked on her rod.

A gigantic shadow was yanked up by the rod. The fog was so thick that she shouldn’t have been able to see anything at all.

But whatever she’d hooked was so heavy, so enormous, and so absurdly massive that it radiated a blinding, dazzling light.

Thanks to the brilliant glow pouring off the creature, Chloe could finally make out its shape—and what kind of monster she was dealing with.

It was a creature that looked like a cross between a whale and a roc, so huge it dwarfed her entire territory.

Its colossal form loomed over her territory, blocking out the sky, while star-like markings shimmered across its enormous, fish-shaped body.

Chloe’s face went pale.

This gigantic fish was easily twice as big as her entire territory.

As soon as she saw the monster, a System Notification popped up. [Corrupted Juvenile Wishfish: Once one of the freest and most blessed companion species of the World Tree, it could grant the wishes of anyone who

saw it.

[Now, after suffering Corruption, it and its kind were cast adrift into the unknown. It can still grant wishes- but now, every wish comes with a price.

[Level: Super Legendary]

Chloe thought, ‘Super Legendary?’

Her Arcane Defense Tower wouldn’t even be enough to fill a gap in this monster’s teeth.

Chloe’s composure was shattered.

As she looked up at the Juvenile Wishfish, it looked right back at her.

The fog in her territory seemed to part, and Chloe caught a glimpse of three golden suns faintly shining through the haze.

It was as if the lid of the pitch-black box she was trapped in had been lifted for a moment, briefly revealing the real world beyond.

Chloe and the Juvenile Wishfish locked eyes.

She saw a pair of massive, rainbow-hued eyes-once dazzling like gemstones, now stained and dimmed by a creeping black Corruption that had eaten away their brilliance.

For some reason, when their eyes met, Chloe’s heart skipped a beat.

System Notification: [Player Chloe has triggered a territory quest. The Call of the Young Juvenile Wishfish.

[You can choose to accept or ignore it.

[If you accept the Young Juvenile Wishfish’s special territory quest, you’ll get a blessing and a special reward from it. Complete the quest, and you’ll receive a reward.

[If you refuse the Juvenile Wishfish, you might trigger its resentment. It could even destroy your territory.]

‘Do I even have a choice?’ Chloe thought.

Her inner grumbling didn’t stop her mood from wavering for a moment when she locked eyes with the Juvenile Wishfish.

Chloe took a deep breath and hit “accept.”

The notification said: [Congratulations, Player Chloe. You have accepted the special territory quest: The Call of the Young Juvenile Wishfish.

[As the first and only player on the region’s starter server to get a special territory quest, you’ve unlocked the Achievement: Juvenile Wishfish’s Gaze.

[You’ve received a special reward: Wish Chest.

[You’ve received the title: ‘Potential Lord.’

[Potential Lord: Equip this title, and your territory’s resource growth rate jumps by 10%. You’ll have a much higher chance of evolution in your barren land, and a better shot at spawning more complex lifeforms.

[Note: Each player can only equip up to 3 titles at once. Extra titles can be fused or recycled. This feature unlocks when your territory hits Level 2.]

Chloe was totally stunned by the “Potential Lord” title, especially that line about being the first and only player on the unknown region’s starter server. It made her break out in a cold sweat.

At that moment, Chloe couldn’t help but wonder, ‘Just how many players are there in this survival game? And how big is this world, really?

‘The 15-day newbie period is like a box keeping us safe inside. But what kind of dangers are lurking out there, beyond these walls?

‘And what does “territory evolution” even mean?”

Chloe was so overwhelmed by the flood of notifications that she could barely keep up. Before she knew it, the
