Chapter 102 Mutated Monster
Chipe didn’t bother with those fancy magical items anymore.
She opened the detailed description of the Glass Greenhouse.
The notification read: [Glass Greenhouse: A high-end greenhouse crafted from advanced Sulfur-Crystal Glass, with extremely efficient energy absorption.
Quality: Grand Rare
[Effect 1: The Glass Greenhouse provides an optimal environment for delicate seeds. There’s a chance it will boost the growth rate of plants inside and even improve their mood.
[Effect 2: The Sulfur-Crystal Glass is infused with special magic runes. When exposed to sunlight and moonlight, there’s slim chance it will gather unique purifying energy from both, boosting the plants’ resistance to Corruption.]
Chloe couldn’t take her eyes off Effect 2.
The Sulfur-Crystal Glass recipe she originally made didn’t have any special magic runes in it.
Only the Arcane Workbench could make the Glass Greenhouse do something like this.
‘No wonder it’s a Legendary Arcane Workbench, Chloe thought.
Chloe was increasingly impressed by how powerful materials that boosted Health could be.
She wanted to craft a few more flower pots, but the Rare Frost Glass needed for them was hard to come by.
Scavenging for that kind of special material in the global chat was no easy task. It all depended on luck.
As night fell, the Arcane Defense Tower started blasting away again. The monsters from the newbie phase weren’t all that dangerous.
Chloe thought, ‘But looking at the territory radar… isn’t that way too many monsters?’
Chloe glanced at the territory interface and saw a sea of red dots.
She started feeling a bit wary.
Suddenly, Chloe noticed an unusual alert pop up on the territory radar.
She rushed outside and realized she’d forgotten to put away her fishing rod-and ended up reeling in a monster.
It was a monster so bizarre it defied description.
It looked nothing like a person, nor an animal, nor even a plant-more like a mashup of creatures and objects all fused together.
The Arcane Defense Tower was unleashing a blinding light, relentlessly bombarding that grotesque ‘monster.’
Wind elements were raging across the entire territory, shaking everything and leaving the ground full of pits and craters.
Chloe had no doubt that if it weren’t for the Wind Shield built into the Arcane Defense Tower, her territory would’ve been destroyed before the monster even got close.
“The destructive power is insane, Chloe thought.

Aethelgard: The Survival Game
Chloe stayed inside, waiting for the Arcane Defense Tower to finally stop blasting.
Only then did the system notification pop up with her rewards. [Congratulations, Player. You’ve defeated a special nons Corruption Mutant xl.
[Congratulations, Player. You’re among the first 200 newbies on this server to defeat a Corruption Mutant. Reward: Gol Chest x1.]
The Arcane Defense Tower’s energy bar was nearly depleted, only 18% left. Chloe couldn’t figure out how the other playe managed to kill a Corruption Mutant.
But she was certain that this monster was anything but ordinary.
As the Arcane Defense Tower finished off the monster, Chloe stood inside the Glass Greenhouse, peering through the Sulfur-Crystal Glass.
She locked eyes with the monster’s blood-red gaze-madness, emptiness, and a chilling coldness.
Chloe froze for a moment, and before she knew it, her hands were already clutching her Thundercloud Staff and compos bow, itching to finish the monster off herself.
‘So those creepy red eyes outside at night… were they monsters like this?’ Chloe thought. a chill running down her spine
After the red dots vanished from the territory radar, Chloe cautiously ventured outside to inspect the aftermath.
Huge craters littered the ground, blasted out by the Arcane Defense Tower-just showing how insane the monster swarm was tonight.
For what felt like the hundredth time, Chloe was glad she’d gone with the Arcane Defense Tower instead of anything else. She was also seriously grateful to RichDragonWolf for hooking her up with those Legendary Arcane Materials.
‘Feeling blessed,’ Chloe thought.
Otherwise, as a glass-cannon Mage with just 2 Strength, it wouldn’t matter how many spells she had. If a monster got close, she’d be dead meat.
Chloe checked her territory, making sure there were no monsters left behind, and finally breathed easy.
Even through the fog. Chloe could still make out those blood-red eyes staring back at her from the darkness. She had no clue how many Corruption Mutants were lurking out there.
Chloe couldn’t help but wonder if anyone else was getting hit this hard tonight, with the fog so thick.
Players who hadn’t upgraded their territory or unlocked the radar had no way of knowing those monsters were out there.
Chloe had no idea. She felt way more tired than usual-probably just stress getting to her.
Her muscles were sore everywhere.
Chloe sparingly used the rainwater she’d collected to clean herself up, changed into her pajamas, and curled up in bed.
She was dead tired.
It was already late. She’d just leave everything for tomorrow.
Without the system’s emotional buffer, Chloe noticed her status bar was suddenly cluttered with “Mental Fatigue”, “Burnout, and “Physical Strain”.

Aethelgard: The Survival Game
‘Guess humans really are emotional creatures, Chloe thought.
Chloe realized that exhaustion was slowing down her grind. This survival game was getting way too real. She couldn’t kee ignoring her body’s limits and forcing herself to work anymore.
It had been a long time since Chloe felt this way-her food was so dry and hard to digest.
After nearly two weeks of nothing but meat and absolutely no Dietary Fiber, she was constipated, bloated, and her stoma was in knots.
Chloe closed her eyes, utterly exhausted.
Outside, the fog was thick and Corruption was everywhere, but inside her cozy cabin, everything was peaceful and undisturbed.
Her territory was guarded by the Arcane Defense Tower, with the Slime Cabin and its spotless little bed, a bright Crystal Knowledge, and production facilities humming along, working steadily through the night.
On the very edge of her territory, there were plants brimming with life and vitality.
It was Chloe’s eleventh day in this survival game.
Even though the night outside was harsh, it didn’t mess with Chloe’s sleep. She finally got to enjoy a calm, peaceful night.
On a 12-by-12 territory, a player was chilling by his Campfire, grilling food and hyped about the blueprint he just got.
He said, “Heh, foggy days are way better than snowy ones. No freezing cold, and no terrifying Snow Yeti ripping up my Snow Canopy.
