Divorce?
Amber POV
Just when we thought the situation couldn’t become any more absurd, it did.
It started with a phone call from River City.
One of the Sun Corporation office buildings had been attacked.
An armed gang had broken into the building during the early hours of the morning, smashing computers, destroying furniture, vandalizing offices, and attempting to access confidential company files before security and the police arrived.
Fortunately, no employees had been seriously injured.
The relief lasted only a few seconds.
Because during the police interviews, every single member of the gang told the same story.
“We were hired by Amber Asher.”
When Jason repeated those words, I simply stared at him.
“…Seriously?”
He nodded grimly.
“They’re all saying it.”
I couldn’t even be angry anymore.
It was becoming predictable.
“If I wanted to damage Sun Corporation,” I said, “I certainly wouldn’t hire criminals to announce my name before getting arrested.”
Marcus couldn’t help laughing.
“They’re not exactly criminal masterminds.”
Unfortunately, the police still had to investigate every lead.
That included me.
The following morning, I flew to River City with Marcus acting as my lawyer.
Jason wanted to come.
Absolutely insisted on it.
Emory sided with me for once.
“Jason is still recovering.”
“He stays in Sum.”
Jason was not happy about it.
Neither was I.

But I knew Emory was right.
the police headquarters, the questioning was professional.
The lead detective apologized before we even sat down.
“Mrs. Sun, we understand these allegations may be false.”
“But procedure requires us to speak with you.”
“I understand.”
For nearly two hours they questioned me.
Where had I been?
Who had I contacted?
Did I know any of the arrested men?
Had I transferred money to them?
Every answer was simple.
No.
No.
No.
And…
Definitely no.
Eventually the detective closed the file.
“As of this moment, we have found absolutely no evidence linking you to these individuals.”
Marcus smiled.
“Thank you.”
The detective nodded.
“I’m sorry you had to come.”
“So am I.”
I honestly thought that would be the end of it.
I was wrong.
As Marcus and I left the station, someone inside took a photograph.
Just one.
It showed me sitting across from two detectives inside the interview room.
Nothing more.

Within an hour…
Every tabloid had the image.
AMBER ASHER QUESTIONED BY POLICE.
The headlines became increasingly ridiculous.
REVENGE FOR HER SECRET DIVORCE?
DID AMBER ORDER THE ATTACK ON SUN CORPORATION?
POLICE INVESTIGATE JEALOUS WIFE.
I rubbed my temples.
“They’re not even trying anymore.”
Marcus was already scrolling through the comments.
Then he stopped.
“… You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“What?”
He turned the screen toward me.
A photograph.
It showed what appeared to be a signed divorce agreement.
Jason’s signature rested neatly at the bottom.
The headline proudly declared:
LEAKED! JASON FINALLY SIGNS THE DIVORCE PAPERS.
I looked at it for less than five seconds before handing it back.
“That’s fake.”
Marcus nodded.
“I know.”
He zoomed in on the image.
“The shadows don’t match.”
“The signature has compression artifacts.”
“The paper texture changes halfway down the page.”
He smiled.
“They used AI.”
Within an hour, Marcus held a press conference outside his law office.

Cameras crowded the entrance.
Reporters shouted questions before he even reached the podium.
Marcus calmly waited for silence.
“I represent both Mr. Jason Sun and Mrs. Amber Sun.”
He held up the circulating image.
“This document is fraudulent.”
Large screens behind him enlarged the photograph.
Marcus pointed toward several highlighted sections.
“The signature was artificially generated.”
“The lighting is inconsistent.”
“The document itself contains digital manipulation impossible to produce through normal scanning.”
He paused.
“Our forensic analysts have already confirmed that this image was created using artificial intelligence.”
The reporters immediately erupted into whispers.
Marcus continued.
“For the avoidance of doubt…”
“Mr. Jason Sun has never filed for divorce.”
“He has never instructed my office to prepare divorce proceedings against his wife.”
“And no legally valid divorce settlement exists.”
A reporter raised her hand.
“So the image is completely fabricated?”
Marcus nodded once.
“It is.”
Another reporter asked, “Will your clients pursue legal action?”
Marcus smiled, though there was no warmth in it.
“We intend to pursue every individual responsible for manufacturing and distributing false legal documents.”
He gathered his notes.
“And I sincerely hope whoever created this forgery understands the seriousness of fabricating legal evidence.”
By the time Marcus finished speaking, the narrative had already begun to shift.
The headlines changed.

FAKE DIVORCE DOCUMENT EXPOSED.
DAWYER CONFIRMS AI-GENERATED FORGERY.
WHO IS TRYING TO FRAME THE SUN FAMILY?
I watched the coverage from the castle later that evening.
This wasn’t over.
Not even close.
But for the first time…
The lies were beginning to collapse faster than they could be created.

Amber POV
Marcus and I had barely stepped out of the airport terminal in River City when I realized something was wrong
There were far too many cameras.
Dozens of them.
The moment someone recognized me, the crowd surged forward.
“Mrs. Sun!”
“Mrs. Sun, are you having an affair with Marcus?”
“Did Jason’s hospitalization lead to the breakdown of your marriage?”
“Is Marcus the real reason for the divorce?”
I froze.
“…What?”
Marcus instinctively stepped in front of me.
“Please step back.”

No one listened.
Someone held up a tablet.
“Mrs. Sun, would you like to explain this picture?”
The screen displayed an old photograph.
It showed Marcus with one arm around my waist as we walked out of a hotel after a company celebration years
ago.
I remembered that night immediately.
I had been completely drunk after finally closing a year-long acquisition.
Marcus had volunteered to make sure I got home safely.
The picture had been carefully cropped.
It only showed Marcus and me.
Nothing else.
The reporters immediately began shouting over one another.
“Were you already involved with Marcus while engaged to Jason?”
“Has your relationship lasted for years?”
“Did Jason discover the affair?”
Marcus looked as though he wanted to throw someone’s camera across the parking lot.

Instead, he spoke calmly.
am Mrs. Sun’s attorney.”
“Our professional relationship has existed for years.”
“Nothing more.”
The questions only became louder.
“Then explain the photograph!”
Marcus sighed.
“I can.”
Before he could continue, both of our phones vibrated simultaneously.
Pamela.
I answered immediately.
“Pamela?”
“I’ve seen the news.”
Her voice was calm.
“Don’t say anything.”
“I’ve already handled it.”
A few seconds later, social media refreshed.
Pamela had uploaded the original, uncropped photograph.
The difference was almost comical.
The original showed Marcus supporting my right side…
While Pamela was supporting my left.
I looked absolutely miserable.
My makeup was smeared.
One shoe was missing.
My head rested against Pamela’s shoulder while Marcus tried to stop me from falling onto the sidewalk.
Pamela even included another picture taken seconds later.
She was laughing while trying to shove me into the back seat of a taxi.
Marcus looked completely exhausted.
Her caption was short.
“Corporate celebration.

Amber drank far more than she should have.
Marcus and I took her home together because she couldn’t even walk in a straight line.
Next time, tabloids should try posting the whole picture.”
Within minutes, the comments changed.
They really cropped Pamela out.
That’s embarrassing.
Amber looks unconscious.
Marcus looks like he’s regretting every life decision.
Even I couldn’t stop myself from laughing.
“I don’t remember losing my shoe.”
Marcus smiled.
“I spent twenty minutes looking for it.”
“I found it in a flower bed.”
I buried my face in my hands.
