A Woman Worth Billions Dated the Wrong Brother novel Chapter 303

Voices

Jason POV

I didn’t know how long I retnained standing in the hallway after the doctor’s call ended.

Minutes.

Hours.

Time had stopped making sense.

The words kept replaying in my mind.

The healthy report is the authentic one.

Someone doctored the other report.

Amber hadn’t lied.

She had never lied.

I had.

I had accused her. i

I had doubted our children.

I had looked the woman I loved in the eyes and believed the worst of her.

I stumbled outside, barely aware of where my feet were taking me.

Eventually, I reached the castle gardens.

The familiar stone bench overlooked the mountains, but I couldn’t bring myself to appreciate the view.

I simply sat.

My thoughts no longer felt like my own.

Fragments of conversations circled endlessly inside my head.

Monica’s voice.

Amber’s smile.

The doctor’s words.

Then…

Other conversations.

Conversations that had never happened.

Or…

Had they?

I couldn’t tell anymore.

I frowned, trying to remember.

Amber really looked guilty?

Had she actually avoided my questions?

Or had I imagined all of it?

My memories refused to stay still.

One moment I was certain.

The next, everything shifted.

I pressed both hands against my temples.

It hurt.

It felt as though someone had poured fog directly into my mind.

Breathing became difficult.

No matter how deeply I inhaled…

There wasn’t enough air.

The world blurred.

Voices echoed in the distance.

Someone was calling my name.

I couldn’t answer.

Marcus POV

Something was wrong.

Terribly wrong.

After Amber left the dining room that morning, Jason had disappeared.

No one had seen him for hours.

I finally found him sitting alone in the castle gardens.

At first, I thought he had simply fallen asleep.

Then I saw his eyes.

They weren’t focused.

He was staring straight ahead, whispering to himself.

“…she changed them…”

“…red…”

“…the sky…”

“…she lied…”

“…did she…”

His words made no sense.

“Jason.”

No response.

I knelt in front of him.

His pupils were enormous.

Far too large.

Even in the daylight.

A chill ran down my spine.

Drugged.

Could he have been drugged?

The thought hit me so suddenly that I immediately reached for my phone.

I called Amber first.

Then Pamela.

They arrived less than ten minutes later.

Amber stepped into the garden with an expression colder than I had ever seen.

She stopped several feet away from Jason.

For one long moment…

She didn’t move.

Then she saw his face.

Everything changed.

The anger disappeared.

She slowly approached him.

“Jason…”

The moment she reached toward him…

He flinched.

Actually flinched.

As though he didn’t know whether she was real.

He continued muttering incoherently.

Amber’s face lost all color.

I hated admitting it…

But relief washed over me.

This…

This wasn’t Jason.

Not the Jason I knew.

He would never willingly hurt Amber.

He would never blindly believe another person over her.

Not without something being terribly wrong.

Amber immediately pulled out her phone.

“I need Dr. Watson.”

The call lasted less than a minute.

Half an hour later, a military vehicle stopped outside the castle.

A tall man carrying a medical case stepped out.

“I’m Dr. Emory Watson.”

He shook my hand before walking straight toward Jason.

Amber quickly explained everything.

The false report.

Monica. 1

The sudden personality change.

The doctor’s confirmation.

Emory listened without interrupting.

Then he crouched beside Jason.

“Jason.”

“We need to take a blood sample.”

Jason didn’t even question it.

He simply extended his arm.

No resistance.

No hesitation.

Almost…

To compliant.

Emory’s expression grew darker.

After collecting several samples, he stood.

“I’ll run the tests immediately.”

He looked at Amber.

“Get him somewhere quiet.”

“We’ll use your room.”

Amber nodded silently.

Together, we carefully helped Jason upstairs.

He never argued.

Never asked where we were taking him.

He simply followed every instruction.

That frightened me more than anything else.

Amber stayed beside him while he drifted in and out of confused murmurs.

Three hours later…

Emory returned.

The moment he entered the room, everyone stood.

His expression told us the answer before he even spoke.

“The blood test is positive.”

Silence filled the room.

Amber’s fingers slowly tightened around the edge of the bed.

Emory took a slow breath.

“Jason has been drugged.”

He placed several laboratory reports on the table.

“The substance is classified as a suggestive psychoactive compound.”

“I’ve only encountered it before while treating victims rescued from the Vinny trafficking investigation.”

Marcus and I exchanged a glance.
