Chapter 657
Chapter 657
BLOOD CRESCENT
ALEXANDER
The steady rhythm of my movements had become almost meditative.
I drove my fist forward, pulled it back, and immediately followed with another strike, each movement controlled and deliberate. Sweat rolled down my back and along my temples, but i
barely noticed it anymore. I had been training for long enough that my body had settled into the
familiar rhythm, my mind focused entirely on the exercise.
The training grounds were relatively quiet at this hour. Most of the pack had already begun their daily activities, leaving only the occasional sound of footsteps in the distance and the dull impact of my fists against the training bag.
I stepped back and rolled my shoulders, drawing in a deep breath before moving forward again.
My mind had been unusually occupied lately.
There were several matters demanding my attention. Still, I couldn’t ignore the Silver Hollow
matter since Faye brought it to my knowledge. I could easily ignore it, but not when it affected her
that much. The least I could do was investigate. I needed more information before making any
assumptions.
I didn’t know Conrad as Alpha long enough to decide I knew how he operated. But I had heard he
was not the sort of Alpha who made threats without following through on them.
I struck the bag again, harder this time.
There were too many convenient details surrounding the entire situation.
My instincts had been warning me that there was more to it than what Faye and maybe even Alpha Jason himself knew, and I had learned a long time ago not to ignore that feeling.
I was preparing to deliver another strike when I noticed movement several feet away.
I stopped.
My attention shifted toward the entrance to the training area, where Cole was walking toward me.
His hands were casually tucked into his pockets, and from the relaxed expression on his face, he
looked as though he had no idea how much time I had already spent waiting for him.
I reached down and picked up my shirt from where I had left it earlier. I pulled it over my head and
casually slipped my arms through the sleeves before walking toward him.

Cole waited until I was closer before giving me a small nod.
“Alpha, you called me.”
I nodded once.
“I did.”
I didn’t waste time.
“Do you still have any contacts left in North Ridge?”
His eyebrows lifted slightly, but he didn’t look particularly surprised by the question
“I do.”
He paused, watching me.
“Why?” he asked.
There was no suspicion in his voice yet. He knew I wouldn’t have asked about North Ridge without
a serious reason..
folded my arms loosely across my chest.
“Conrad is going after Silver Hollow.”
Cole’s expression became more attentive.
“He’s threatening to retaliate over a failed business transaction,” I continued. “According to what
I’ve been told, Silver Hollow was supposed to deliver goods that North Ridge had already paid for.”
Cole nodded slowly.
“The shipment never arrived. According to the report from Silver Hollow, it disappeared
somewhere between Silver Hollow and North Ridge.”
Cole remained silent.
“There was no explanation for it,” I continued. “No indication that the shipment was intercepted.
No evidence that it reached North Ridge. Nothing that would explain where it went.”
I watched his expression carefully.
“It was simply unaccounted for. No trace whatsoever.”
Cole’s gaze shifted briefly toward the training grounds before returning to me. He was thinking now, and I knew him well enough to recognize the change. The relaxed attitude was still there, but his mind had clearly started working through what I had told him.

I couldn’t blame him.
The situation didn’t make sense on the surface.
If/Silver Hollow had genuinely sent the shipment and it had disappeared somewhere along the
route, there should have been something. A broken trail, witnesses, signs of an ambush,
information from scouts or guards stationed along the route.
Something.
Instead, there was nothing. And that was precisely what bothered me.
Cole looked back at me, his eyes narrowing slightly.
“So Conrad is threatening Silver Hollow because he believes they deliberately failed to deliver the goods after taking his money?” Cole asked.
I nodded. “That’s what he claims.”
Cole was quiet for another moment.
