Chapter 654
NORTH RIDGE PACK
THIRD POV
Dale entered the room without knocking and Conrad immediately looked up from his phone. The expression on his man’s face told him that whatever had brought him there was worth interrupting him for.
“What is it?” Conrad asked coldly.
“Our informant sent word,” Dale said as he closed the door behind him. “The Luna of Blood Crescent is in Silver Hollow as we speak.”
Conrad’s attention sharpened. “Faye?”
“Yes. She arrived about a day ago. Apparently, she came to visit her parents.”
Conrad leaned back slowly in his chair and remained silent for a moment.
That was not supposed to happen yet.
Faye’s return to Silver Hollow complicated the timing of everything. He had deliberately worked around her because he understood exactly what her involvement could mean.
She was not simply a former member of Silver Hollow. She was the Luna of Blood Crescent, and whatever history she had with the pack, Alexander would not ignore her concerns if she decided to involve him.
Conrad had wanted to be finished before Faye ever understood what was happening. That would have been easy because he knew Jason would be too confident in himself to involve outside help. So by the time Faye found out, Silver Hollow would be so far beyond saving that there would be nothing meaningful
she could do.
Dale moved closer to the desk. “She hasn’t been there long enough to understand everything.”
“She will,” Conrad said.
There was no doubt in Conrad’s voice.
Faye knew the pack. She knew its people, and more importantly, she knew when something was wrong. If she stayed long enough, she would start putting things together.
Dale hesitated briefly before making his suggestion. “We could hold off on the next phase. Just for a little while. Let her finish her visit and return to Blood Crescent. Once she’s gone, we can continue without having to worry about her getting involved.”
Conrad considered the suggestion in silence.
It was reasonable. There was no advantage in allowing Faye to interfere before he had finished what he started. A few days would make little difference to him. She would eventually leave, and they could proceed once she was gone.
Yet the longer he thought about it, the less appealing the idea became.

tie turd his attention toward the window, considering the situation from another angle.
“No, we go ahead with the plan,” Conrad said.
Dale watched him.
“She could bring Blood Crescent into it,” he said.
“She could,” Conrad said.
“Then why give her the chance to ruin this for us?
A faint smile touched Conrad’s lips.
“Because perhaps I’ve been looking at this the wrong way.”
Dale remained silent, waiting for him to continue.
Conrad rose from his chair and walked toward the window. He could have waited. He could have allowed Faye to leave and continued with the original timing. That would have been the safer option.
But perhaps there was something to be gained from her being there. After all, the whole idea was to make Faye suffer from this.
Faye had once been part of Silver Hollow. She had known its strength, its reputation, and the position it once held among the other packs. She knew what Silver Hollow was supposed to be.
Now she was going to watch it become something else. Perhaps it was better for her to watch the process the rest of the way down.
Conrad’s smile deepened.
“Let her stay.”
Dale’s expression remained thoughtful.
“I want her to see it,” Conrad continued. “She came to visit her parents, so let her enjoy her visit. Let her walk around the pack, speak to the people she once knew, and convince herself that she can still make a difference.”
He turned away from the window and looked at Dale, then smiled.
“By the time she realizes how deep this goes, it won’t matter.”
Dale considered his words before speaking again. “And if she decides to interfere?”
Conrad returned to his desk and picked up his glass.
“Silver Hollow is already drowning. Faye being there doesn’t change that… so long as she doesn’t know where it is all coming from.”
He took a slow drink before continuing.
“If anything, it makes the ending more interesting.”
Bale retained quiet.
Conrad lowered the glass. He had spent too long planning this to allow one unexpected arrival to make
