When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 1124

That was exactly how Evander saw it.

He couldn't swallow his blinding rage, so this was the perfect way to kill two birds with one stone.

Lucian hesitated, glancing at the rest of the men. "Do any of you have a better idea?"

No one spoke.

Lucian looked at Asher. "Asher, what do you think?"

"Everything I say is wrong anyway, so why bother asking for my opinion?" Asher muttered. After a beat, he added, "Evander has a point. That woman is blatantly provoking us. If we do nothing, we'll look like pathetic cowards."

Lucian frowned deeply. "My only concern is that she has a backup plan. What if this ends up hurting Lemira?"

"She's hiding in the shadows like a rat. How powerful could she possibly be? She's probably terrified of getting caught." Caspian Langston chimed in before turning to Rowan. "Rowan, what's your take?"

Rowan's expression was grim. "I certainly didn't expect Evelina to have a living mother," he said coldly.

A lot of things had changed from before.

But this woman suddenly claiming to be Evelina's mother was highly suspicious. Clearly, there were massive blind spots in his previous assessments.

"If there's a mastermind pulling the strings behind all of this, it has to be her," Rowan concluded.

Suddenly, all the bizarre and unexplainable anomalies from the past made perfect sense.

Rowan's voice turned icy. "Our little sister has already shouldered too much. Leave this woman to us. We will end her."

Caspian nodded in agreement. "That works out perfectly. Lemira has been trying to start a fresh life anyway. We owe her an unpayable debt, so the least we can do is clean up the mess for her."

Evander's face was ashen. "So everyone agrees with my proposal? Let's move out before anything else goes wrong."
