When They Beg I Rise (Lemira) novel Chapter 1125

Evander strode straight over and locked eyes with the lawyer he recognized.

It was the same attorney from the courtroom—the one hired by Margot Sterling.

Evander's face hardened. "What the hell are you doing here?"

The lawyer visibly paled when he saw Evander. Why had the brothers shown up instead of Lemira?

A flash of surprise crossed the lawyer's face before he quickly smoothed it into a professional mask. "I am the appointed counsel, here specifically to finalize the burial arrangements for Ms. Evelina Sterling."

Evander gritted his teeth. "Where is her corpse? She manipulated me for months, and now she thinks she can just peacefully rot here? Keep dreaming."

"Mr. Evander, the body has already been cremated. We have purchased a plot here. You have no legal right to interfere."

Evander lunged forward, grabbing the lawyer by his collar. "Why don't you stick around and see exactly what I can do?"

Lucian stepped up smoothly. "This is Lyria. There is nothing the Langston family cannot do here."

"Are you not afraid of the media coverage?"

"Our family's reputation is already dragged through the mud. We don't care if it gets a little dirtier. Bottom line: we aren't letting your client get her way."

Caspian glared at the lawyer. "Does your master only know how to let her dogs bark for her? Too bad you're nothing but a useless lapdog."

The lawyer bristled with indignation. "Do you want me to sue you for defamation?"

"Go right ahead! Since you're already drafting lawsuits, I might as well give you something real to complain about!"

Caspian gestured to their security team. "Move in. Grab the urn."

"What do you think you're doing?!"

"Your master wants to bury Evelina here just to disgust us, right? I'll scatter her ashes directly over my parents' grave. It counts as resting in this cemetery, and it'll save her the cost of a plot. Win-win, don't you think?"

Caspian's bodyguards surged forward, wrestling the urn away while pinning the lawyer firmly against the ground.
