Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 999

Their motel wasn't far from Mishka's estate, roughly a mile and a half away. With the martial prowess of all seven members, they covered the distance in record time.

However, the closer they got to the villa, the thicker the hidden sentry lines became. Since they had no intention of alerting their prey tonight, they meticulously bypassed every guard.

The seven of them found a vantage point on a high, grassy ridge overlooking the property.

It wasn't a far drop, allowing them a crystal-clear view through their binoculars.

Owen instantly zeroed in on the high-voltage perimeter fence. Cameras dotted the upper walls, supported by multiple armed lookouts.

The lookouts weren't the real issue; they could easily be picked off with a sniper rifle when the time came.

The official backup they had brought along included elite marksmen for that exact purpose.

The real headache was the electrified grid and the camera feeds. If triggered, they would have a private army armed with heavy artillery raining fire on them.

"The most efficient way to disable the grid and cams is to get the phone number connected to the estate's mainframe. Then we hack the system..."

Mira analyzed.

"The security here is probably synced directly to her father's device,"

Mr. Whitlock noted.

"Just having Mishka's number won't cut it."

Just then, a silhouette stepped out onto the distant balcony.

"That's Mishka. It's definitely her; she spends most of her downtime at this estate,"

Mr. Whitlock confirmed.

"There's a nightclub not far from here where she occasionally crashes.

She keeps a whole harem of captive men there."

He gritted his teeth, his expression darkening.

"I found out during my last trip that any man who catches her eye gets dragged there, willing or not. Anyone who resists meets a brutal end.

If she just killed them quickly, it would be a mercy.

But she doesn't let them die. She tortures them relentlessly, twisting them until they're barely human."

Mishka's obsession with Whitlock bordered on psychopathic; if he didn't possess his own immense power, he would have been locked in her dungeon long ago.

Who knows what horrific fate would have awaited him?

It fueled his desire to eradicate Mishka at all costs.

Mr. Whitlock offered.

His corporation's overseas gray-market operations weren't directly under his purview.

Back in Melvion City, after arranging for Mara's exile, Whitlock had simply instructed his men to follow Mira's orders and wiped his hands of the ordeal.

With his executive status, he naturally didn't micromanage such trivial matters.

"What use would Mishka have in bailing Mara out?"

Master Ellis asked.

"Most likely because Mara's hatred for Mira runs deep enough to make her the perfect disposable tool,"

Owen deduced.

"Next time something like this happens, we end it cleanly. No loose ends,"

Mira kept her eyes glued to the binoculars. "I can confirm it. That's definitely Mara."

Mira would recognize that wretched posture even if Mara were reduced to ashes. But this was perfect—she could eliminate both problems at once.

Just as the team was preparing to pull back, Silas hissed, "Hold on. Mishka's coming out."
