Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 936

"Vivienne Voss?"

"Yes, Vanessa's cousin. Her number is..."

"Time's up. We need to go."

The police officers cut Lawrence off before he could finish.

They hauled Lawrence out the door, dragging him away without another word.

……

Meanwhile, Mira had spent the entire morning accompanying Eleanor at the Aethelgard Jewelry Plaza, absorbing a wealth of knowledge about fine gems.

Just before lunch, Owen Lance called Mira. "Mira, Lawrence got arrested."

"Arrested? Did his people try to cause a scene with you?"

"They're probably on their way right now. A confrontation is inevitable, but I can handle it.

I just wanted to remind you to stay safe at the plaza with Eleanor. Don't worry about things on my end.

Also, try to keep Eleanor distracted for the next few days. Keep her from going home. Now that Lawrence is in trouble, her son is definitely going to try and track her down to pressure us."

"Got it, I understand."

Hanging up the phone, Mira turned around. "Grandma Eleanor, this jewelry plaza is massive. You haven't seen everything yet, have you?"

"Not even close. We've only been here for a day and a half."

Eleanor replied naturally.

Mira's eyes twinkled with an idea. "How long do you think it would take to see the whole place?"

"At the pace we're going—stopping whenever we see a beautiful piece, asking questions, and examining every detail—

Plus, factoring in breaks whenever I get tired, I'd say it'll take at least ten days to a couple of weeks to truly appreciate everything here."

Rachel chimed in, easily following Mira's lead.

Mira then smiled at Eleanor. "There's no rush. A spectacular collection like this is a once-in-a-lifetime sight.

Take your time browsing. If you spot anything worth collecting, just note it down, and I'll come over whenever I'm free.

"It's better to eat early. If we wait for the rush hour, we won't be able to find a table.

Let's head over now so we can take our time and enjoy the meal."

Mira looped her arm through Eleanor's.

They walked over to the restaurant inside the plaza. Just as predicted, it was mostly empty.

They found a table with a great view. While Rachel looked over the menu to order, Mira glanced back at the security detail standing in a tight perimeter. "You guys should take shifts to eat," she told them. "You don't need to stand guard all at once. Order whatever you'd like."

The security team consisted of more than just Silas Vane, Jax Weaver, and Eleanor's personal guards. Silas Lawson had also dispatched eight top-tier specialists to assist them.

They were, after all, out here doing them a massive favor.

While everyone settled in for their meal, Mira and Jillian sat together and finally checked their phones for the day's news.

"Mira, look at this. The front pages are completely dominated by the Lance family."

Jillian whispered.
