Leonard and Jocelyn couldn't believe their ears. Their daughter hadn't even been involved in some of those matters.

"I said, your precious daughter got arrested again," Lawrence repeated.

"Why? What happened?"

"Word is she and Seraphina went looking for trouble with Mira. It backfired, and they were reported for being connected to the assassins."

"How could Mira know?" Jocelyn clearly knew about the assassins, and Richard didn't seem entirely oblivious either.

"I'm guessing she bluffed them."

"If there's no proof, how could the police detain them?" Richard frowned.

"There is no proof, but they ran their mouths and supposedly blurted out something about the assassins. So, proof or no proof, they're getting locked up for a few days. I bet Mira knows exactly what she's doing—she just wants to make us miserable. Blame those two idiots for stirring up trouble right now. Haven't we got enough of a mess?" Lawrence paced around frantically.

"So what do we do?" Jocelyn asked, furrowing her brow.

"What can we do? Leave them there for now. It's their fault for being stupid."

"You mean we just ignore it and they'll be released in a few days?" Jocelyn pressed, still uneasy.

"Yeah, exactly."

Jocelyn and Richard finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Didn't you go to the Quinn family? How are the wedding plans?" Richard looked at his son.

Meanwhile, Mira returned home from classes to find Owen already there. "Did you finish everything today?" she asked.

"No, there's one last step to announce."

"Why hold off?"

Owen glanced at Eleanor sitting in the living room. Mira caught his meaning immediately and headed upstairs to change. Owen followed close behind. Once they reached the second floor, Owen finally spoke. "Seraphina and Lawrence are getting married the day after tomorrow."

"What? They're getting married? In two days?" Mira couldn't believe it. Were Sebastian and Gwen out of their minds? The Lance Group was in deep trouble, and the exact cause wasn't even clear yet. Why the mad rush to marry off their daughter?
