Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 883

The only logical explanation was that he was covering for his son, or his son's current wife.

Resigned, Richard finally instructed Geoffrey to have the staff start packing.

Just then, Luna Lance walked out wearing floral pajamas. "Owen, just give us a few more days. There's no way we can finish packing today."

"Don't call me that. I don't have a sister."

Owen had given them notice half a month ago, yet they hadn't packed a single box. Whose fault was that?

He marched right up to Richard. "You have one day. I want the keys in my hand by tomorrow morning."

Meanwhile, Mira and the others had spent most of the day exploring and were now heading toward the Aethelgard University cafeteria.

"Harvey! Look, Mira, it's Harvey Rivers."

Mira and Celine followed Liora's pointing finger to see Harvey and a few of his dormmates also walking toward the dining hall.

"Harvey Rivers, you slipped away yesterday, so you're treating us today," Liora called out with a bright smile.

She teased with a bright smile.

"Who said I slipped away?

I transferred the cash to Mira, she just refused to accept it."

Liora was ridiculous—did she really think he'd dine and dash over a single meal?

"This is Wyatt Wright, and this is Cedric Miller..."

"I'm Zachary Boone, and we're all Harvey's roommates."

Zachary finished the introductions before Mira could.

"And I'm Reece Hamilton.

Since the boss is treating, one more won't hurt."

Just as he spoke, Reece strolled up to join the group.

"He's our class president," Mira explained.

Mira introduced him once again.

"Alright, fine. It's not like I don't treat you guys all the time anyway," Harvey said.

Harvey replied.

"Order whatever you want, but rule number one: you finish what you get. No wasting food."

"Can't we just pack up the leftovers? It's not every day we get a free meal out of you," Reece joked.

Reece remarked deliberately.

"No way. Who gave you permission to eat and take a to-go box?"

"Fine, fine, I promise to clear my plate."

Mira sneaked a glance at Celine, noticing the faint blush dusting her cheeks.

It was official now—she definitely had a crush on Harvey.

"Hers. I think she's fun and adorable."

Reece pointed directly at Liora.

He came from a modest background. While he excelled academically, his overall social standing wasn't anything spectacular.

He had heard from Harvey the day before that Liora attended Aethelgard Law School.

Reece figured that any girl close enough to hang out with Mira had to be top-tier.

"Bro, you don't mess around, do you?"

Wyatt and the others stared at Reece.

"Since when do people just improvise picking up girls like this?"

This time, Liora blushed, turning her gaze toward Mira for help.

"Don't look at me. You have to make your own relationship choices; I can't decide for you."

Mira stated firmly.

Truthfully, she didn't have much dating experience either. Owen had been the one to pursue her.

Back then, Mira had simply felt that Owen's character, competence, and looks were all excellent, plus he was a huge asset to her career—so she agreed.

"What do you think of him?"

Liora pressed, still staring at Mira.
