Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 869

Great. They were back to the ten-year age gap, all thanks to Liora's big mouth.

"For your information, Owen is brilliant, incredibly talented, and undeniably gorgeous—"

Celine furiously jumped to Mira's defense, but Mira calmly held up a hand. She found the whole exchange more amusing than offensive.

"So, do you think I'm pretty?" Mira asked.

"I just told you, you're absolutely stunning," Sienna huffed.

"But you also just said that all top students are ugly nerds. I was the top scorer in the national exams."

"Mira, don't listen to her nonsense,"

Celine interjected anxiously.

Sienna simply smirked, completely unfazed. "Alright, fine. Maybe your campus actually does have some decent guys."

"Remember the rule," Liora chimed in firmly. "You can look, but you can't touch."

Mira barely suppressed a laugh. If Sienna went around grabbing random guys on campus, she was going to catch a lawsuit, or a fist.

Celine continued to scowl at her cousin.

"And you're not allowed to hit on them, either," Liora added.

"You guys are so weird," Sienna groaned. "I get the 'no touching' thing, but I can't even say hi?"

"Stop trying to explain it to her. She's just a creep,"

Celine snapped.

The tension spiked once more, but this time it was Sienna who looked ready to swing.

"Who are you calling a creep? Having physical desires is totally normal! Repressing yourself like a nun is what's actually psychotic!"

"Normal? If you had the 'desire' to kill someone, would you just do it? You'd rot in prison!"

"That's a ridiculous comparison! I haven't killed anyone."

Realizing things were escalating dangerously fast, Mira quickly stepped between them. "Okay, that's enough. Let's just go. We're heading to campus.

The student clubs are hosting events today. I'll take you inside to look around."

Giving her cousin one last murderous glare, Celine marched toward the exit.

"What is her problem? Everyone lives their life differently. Why does she care so much?"

Sienna muttered under her breath, glaring at Celine's retreating back.

She wasn't breaking any laws. Her family had money, so what was wrong with living a little recklessly?

"Are you actually stupid? The driver and the guy in the passenger seat!"

If Celine had been any older, the sheer stress of dealing with her cousin would have given her a heart attack.

"Oh, them."

Sienna pointed dismissively toward the front.

"Those are Mira's bodyguards. They don't count as guys."

"Bodyguards are still men!"

Liora yelled, completely appalled.

"Hey, leave us out of your drama. I've got a short temper, and I'm not afraid to throw a punch if you piss me off,"

Silas Vane warned gruffly from the driver's seat.

Thoroughly intimidated, Sienna immediately clamped her mouth shut.

Liora and Celine's respective security teams were following closely in the trailing vehicle.

A tense silence settled over the SUV for the remainder of the drive. Not a single word was exchanged until they pulled up to Aethelgard University—and spotted Harvey Rivers.
