Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 849

"Wire it."

"Don't."

"I only take orders from my boss."

Cyrus said with a polite smile, hitting the enter key to complete the transfer.

Owen's expression darkened, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Even though they were officially together, Mira firmly believed in keeping their massive financial portfolios entirely separate. Even if they got married down the line, she fully intended to keep their assets divided.

Clear boundaries were the secret to a lasting relationship.

This way, Owen retained absolute control over his empire, and Mira could do whatever she pleased with her own wealth.

It eliminated potential resentment and kept arguments to a minimum.

Besides, no one could guarantee that a romance would stay perfect forever.

If things ever went south, they could part ways cleanly.

With all the logistics handled, the group stayed at the hotel for one more night, waiting until early the next morning to finally head to their respective homes.

Before leaving, Harvey asked Mira, "Are you heading to campus today? When are we handing out the souvenirs to everyone?"

"It's Friday, and I've got a mountain of things to catch up on at home. I'm going to skip classes and just head back after the weekend.

Let's hand them out during lunch on Monday."

Since they had traveled all the way to the Javenaire Federation, they had made sure to bring back high-end gifts for their university friends.

Mira had bought everyone the newest PearPhone, while Harvey had picked out sleek new laptops.

Each item cost thousands of dollars, making them incredibly lavish gifts for ordinary college students.

Mira then turned to Cyrus. "Take the day off. Go home and get some sleep. I'll see you on Monday."

He had worked himself to the bone on this trip, single-handedly organizing all her chaotic financial ledgers and corporate reports.

He was meticulous, relentlessly hardworking, and knew how to keep his mouth shut, which was exactly why Mira valued him so much.

As a reward for the Wall Street operation, Mira had handed him a hundred-thousand-dollar bonus, on top of the fifty-fold return he had made on his own small personal investment.

"Thank you, Boss!"

On the drive back, Mira leaned toward Owen. "With our net worth combined now, we have to be the wealthiest people in Mavaria, right?"

Mira asked, dropping her hand from Owen's face.

"Relationships are way too much drama, no thanks."

In reality, the bodyguards had plenty of downtime when they rotated shifts.

They occasionally dated, but strictly avoided marriage and kids, keeping things casual enough to walk away at any moment.

Everyone had their own lifestyle, and Mira had no intention of micromanaging her security team's personal lives.

She turned back to Owen. "You never answered my question. Are we the wealthiest now or not?"

"Probably, but there's plenty of old money out there staying off the radar, just like us."

"Honestly, the national ranking doesn't matter. As long as the corporation keeps scaling smoothly, we'll conquer the global market eventually."

When they finally arrived at the estate, Rachel had already prepared a massive feast, waiting excitedly in the living room with Grandma Eleanor.

The moment they heard the knock, the two women practically sprinted to the door.

But to Mira's complete shock, Master Ellis was already sitting on the couch.
