Too Late to Hold Me Back novel Chapter 818

Ethan and his team had brought plenty of Melvion City specialties, which Mira graciously accepted.

Owen had stayed quiet throughout their entire conversation.

Only after they left did he turn to Mira. "Let's hurry up and pack. We can't afford to leave anything behind."

Once Mira's things were sorted, they prepared to drive to Owen's place to grab his luggage. The plan was to rendezvous at the hotel that evening so they wouldn't hit any delays in the morning.

Before they could even walk out the door, Mira's phone rang. It was Ethan.

Mira answered, and Beatrice's frantic voice came through. "Mira, get over here quickly. Ethan and Gwen got into a fight."

Mira immediately lowered her voice and glanced toward the living room to make sure Eleanor couldn't hear.

Stepping closer to the door, she whispered, "Tell Ethan I need to see him. We're heading over right now."

Hanging up, Mira heard Owen say, "Ethan isn't an impulsive guy. If he clashed with Gwen, she must have said something incredibly vile."

Grabbing their bodyguards, they tossed their luggage into the trunk and sped toward the Quinn family estate.

At that moment, the Quinn household was a battlefield.

Gwen was screaming at the top of her lungs. "Help! I'm being assaulted! My own nephew comes into my house and hits me? No, I'm going to ask that little—"

She wanted to say 'little bitch,' but Ethan's roar cut her off.

"Say one more word about my sister, and I'll knock your teeth down your throat!

I held back just now out of basic decency. I didn't hit you hard enough."

Ethan glared murderously at Gwen.

Sebastian and Beatrice were flanking Ethan, desperately pulling on his arms to hold him back.

On the other side, Miles and Seraphina were gripping Gwen's arms, trying to restrain her.

It happened to be a weekend, so the entire family was present.

Let me make this clear—swallowing insults isn't in my vocabulary. You run your mouth, and I'll strike back."

While the Quinn family had plenty of security, they were standard guards. The men Ethan had brought were elite enforcers.

If it escalated into an all-out brawl, it wasn't guaranteed who would lose.

More importantly, the Quinn family refused to turn this into a public spectacle that would make them the laughingstock of Aethelgard.

"Ethan, let it go. Blowing this up won't do anyone any good,"

Miles intervened.

He was genuinely shaken today. His mother had gotten so used to casually trashing Mira at home that she forgot her audience. They assumed Ethan hated his sister, only for him to march up and slap Gwen across the face.

Truthfully, Ethan's visit had started perfectly cordially.

When he and Beatrice left Mira's place, their original plan was to visit Lacey. But since the Quinn estate was so close, Beatrice had suggested, "Let's drop by Sebastian's place first."
